Title:
CH-47F Block II Test Engineer Program Summary KBR's Missile, Aviation, and Ground Systems (MAGS) division delivers mission engineering solutions for critical U.S. Army programs, specializing in aviation and ground systems, integrated air and missile defense, and threat and target systems. Job Summary Are you ready to apply decades of aviation test expertise to one of the Army's most visible helicopter programs? As a CH-47F Block II Test Engineer, you will serve as a key technical leader supporting the Cargo Helicopter Project Office in Huntsville, AL. You'll integrate and execute Test & Evaluation (T&E) activities across the full acquisition lifecycle, directly influencing system performance, safety, and fielding outcomes. In this role, you will collaborate with government, industry, and international stakeholders to deliver data-driven decisions that shape the future of Army aviation. Roles and Responsibilities: • Serve as a senior Test Engineer/Analyst supporting the CH-47 Project Management Office (PMO) across Developmental, Operational, and Live Fire T&E activities • Develop, coordinate, and maintain T&E documentation including TEMP, test plans/reports, and Live Fire strategies • Plan, coordinate, and support execution of aviation test events (flight, ground, environmental, and survivability testing) • Integrate testing across developmental, production, and international efforts to ensure a unified test strategy • Lead and participate in Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs), and design reviews • Provide technical briefings and decision support to senior Army leadership and acquisition stakeholders • Analyze test data and produce defensible conclusions to support milestone decisions (LRIP, FRP, sustainment upgrades) • Identify test risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure schedule, cost, and performance objectives are met • Support acquisition activities including milestone documentation, budgeting, scheduling, and test resource planning Basic Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related field • 5+ years of relevant Army Aviation test and evaluation experience • Direct experience in rotary-wing aviation platforms • Demonstrated experience supporting Developmental Test (DT), Operational Test (OT), and Live Fire Test & Evaluation (LFT&E) • Strong experience developing TEMP, test plans, test reports, and acquisition documentation • Deep knowledge of DoD acquisition lifecycle, milestone decisions, and T&E processes • Experience applying statistical analysis, modeling, and simulation to test evaluation problems • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including technical briefings to senior stakeholders • U.S. Citizenship required • Must possess a current Secret Security Clearance • Experience handling Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and Federal Contract Information (FCI) Preferred Qualifications: • Master's degree in Mathematics, Engineering, or related discipline • Prior U.S. Army service; Rated Aviator, Flight Test Engineer, or Aviation Evaluation Officer experience • Direct CH-47F program experience or similar heavy-lift rotary-wing platforms • Experience supporting OSD-level or ACAT I programs • Familiarity with: o Reliability & Maintainability (R&M) testing o Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) testing o MIL-STD-810H environmental testing • Experience supporting airworthiness qualification and Army flight release processes • Proven leadership in IPT environments and cross-functional coordination KBR Benefits KBR offers a selection of competitive lifestyle benefits which could include 401K plan with company match, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, AD&D, flexible spending account, disability, paid time off, or flexible work schedule.
