Are you an experienced financial leader looking for an opportunity to combine strategic financial leadership with meaningful global impact?

Join the International Crane Foundation (ICF) and be part of a global non-profit organization dedicated to protecting cranes and the ecosystems, watersheds, and landscapes they call home. Our global headquarters is located in Baraboo, WI, located on 250 acres and surrounded by beautiful restored native prairies. We are seeking an experienced and mission-driven Chief Financial Officer to provide leadership for global financial management, planning, compliance, and stewardship across ICF's international programs and operations to support our conservation goals.

This full-time position offers a starting annual salary between $140,000 - 150,000. The CFO serves as a key strategic advisor to the CEO, Senior Leadership Team, and Board of Directors, leading financial strategy, long-range financial planning, enterprise risk management, internal controls, treasury management, financial compliance, and organizational stability. You will lead and mentor a talented international finance team that supports operations in the United States, Africa, and Asia, ensuring financial practices remain effective, compliant, and aligned with organizational goals.

To be successful in this role, you must be a collaborative and forward-thinking leader with strong expertise in nonprofit financial management, strategic planning, and organizational governance. You must also have a proven ability to strengthen financial systems, support program growth, communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, and translate complex financial information into actionable insights for leadership and board decision-making.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field
  • CPA designation
  • At least five years of experience serving as a CFO or in an equivalent senior financial leadership role
  • Experience with nonprofit financial management, international finance management, GAAP compliance, board reporting, budget and forecasting, audit management, and staff leadership

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Master's Degree in Business or a related field
  • International financial management experience
  • Knowledge of federal grant compliance
  • Endowment management experience
  • Familiarity with Sage MIP (Abila) accounting software.
