Job description

Chief Finance Officer - Manchester

Department: CFO / Finance Director

Employment Type: Contract

Location: Manchester

Reporting To: John Alexander

Description

Chief Financial Officer
Recruiting within the M, OL & SK postcodes.

If youโ€™re a top quality Chief Financial Officer / Finance Director whoโ€™s frustrated and fed up with the confines of a normal corporate life and youโ€™re looking for something different, or youโ€™re an independent CFO whoโ€™s already made the break from corporate life, or a working or returning CFO parent who wants more work flexibility and work life balance, then read on, this might be for you.

Youโ€™ll be responsible for providing CFO services to ambitious ยฃ2-50M private businesses, supporting business owners to climb their Everest.

Weโ€™re not interested in people who just want a job. Youโ€™ll help our clients reach those summits, youโ€™ll be a self-starter with ambition, energy, and a โ€˜can doโ€™ attitude, who has a passion to help our clients, typically business owners, entrepreneurs, CEO's or MD's.

Youโ€™ll thrive on the challenge and autonomy of growing your own portfolio of clients, supported by an incredible network of CFOs based across world. We have big dreams, and we expect you to have the same.

What do we do?

We define and deliver the numbers that really matter. What does that mean? Well anyone can come up with numbers, we help our clients find the ones that really make a difference, not only to their business, but to their lives, and help deliver them! Whether thatโ€™s growth, acquisition, consolidation, or setting them up for the lifestyle theyโ€™ve always wanted.

How does it work?

The role is self-employed, whilst operating within a defined model, combining the benefits of being part of a team and supported by a well-established organisation, but with a level of autonomy and freedom in how you deliver outcomes for clients.

Rather than feeding you fish, we teach you how to catch them and how to build a portfolio career that can be a game changer for clients and yourself. Youโ€™ll love the challenge, variety and interest of working for multiple clients and appreciate the flexibility this way of working provides. A great listener, and even better at asking great questions, at first youโ€™ll wake up every day and think โ€œhow do I build my portfolio todayโ€ and then as your portfolio builds think โ€œhow do I add value and do something special for my clients today?โ€

Weโ€™re the UK & Global Market leading provider of part-time Finance Directorโ€™s and Chief Finance Officerโ€™s services to mid-sized businesses. As we say, for those businesses that donโ€™t want, donโ€™t need and probably canโ€™t afford a full time CFO/FD, yet who want access to that skillset on an affordable part-time basis.

What do you need to have?

You need to be qualified from one of the UKs major chartered accounting institutes and have been a realโ€‘life CFO/FD once, twice or several times over, with strong experience and understanding of commercial finance, business strategy, and a track record of success, although your "special sauce" is your natural ability to build genuine longโ€‘lasting relationships with our clients. Part CFO, part advisor, part strategist, part friend. Your clients will say "this person and The CFO Centre are in it with me for the longโ€‘term, and I know they really care".

Working closely with your Regional Director and team of CFO/FDs in a highly collegiate environment. We pride ourselves on being a great place to work, with family at our core, as is often found in our own clientโ€™s operations.
