Job description

Copper Mountain Resort is a vacation destination located 75 miles west of Denver, Colorado in the heart of the Rocky Mountains. Three vibrant, pedestrian-friendly village areas host lodging, retail outlets, restaurants, bars, and family activities. During the winter months, Copper's world-class terrain offers skiing and riding for all ages and abilities. Each summer, the mountain transforms into a playground for hikers, mountain bikers, and anyone seeking a genuine Colorado experience. Copper Mountain Resort is also home to Woodward Copper action-sports camps, programs, and training facility.

Job Title: Terrain Park Groomer Level 1

Job Status: Seasonal

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Compensation:Proposed hiring rate of $20.50to$22.80+,actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.

  • Benefits:This is a seasonal position eligible for seasonpassfor employees/dependents and privileges at several other resorts.Several discount programs (i.e.food & beverage, retail/rental, tickets, etc.)alsoavailable.

Job Summary:

The TerrainPark Groomer Level I is an entry level grooming position with a focus on learning.Willassistthe Terrain Park Manager and Terrain Park Grooming Supervisor in the overall delivery of the Terrain Park focusing on snow-cat operations.Individual isresponsible for helping with building andmaintainingtheterrainparks. Willassistsupervisor and lead with all terrain park grooming needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Demonstrated skills:

  • Performs utility-oriented tasks-i.e.starting snow cat and preparing for operators

  • Front line grooming basics

  • Creates a finished product that is ready to ride

  • Understands fleet grooming and grooming patterns/efficiencies

  • Performs removal and reattachment of blade,zaugg, and tiler

  • Maintains a clean, neat operator cabin

  • Understands and completes necessary logs and paperwork

Guest Service Duties:

  • Provide exceptional guest service by creating a fun/innovative Terrain Park

  • Stay current with industry trends and standards

Basic Requirements:

  • Mustbe at least 18 years old

  • Must be able to lift andcarry itemsup to 50 lbs.

  • Mustbe able to work with hand and power tools

  • Must have a valid US Driver's license

  • Hasworkedtwo or more years on terrain park day staff

  • Performs thorough pre and post operation inspection on snow grooming machines

  • Performs cleaning of snowcat for operator

  • Sets up and starts groomer for Operator

  • Must have strong skiing or snowboarding skills and have knowledge of freestyle skiing/riding

  • This position may require the use of a mountain radio/walkie-talkies for communication

Preferred Experience and Special Skills:

  • 1 year Terrain Park building experience preferred

  • Snowmaking experience preferred

  • Google Sketch-up experience preferred
