Job description

The Health Captive Program Manager provides majority of the technical aspects of our health benefit captives.ย  Maintains a high level of day-to-day client and broker business relationships. Responsible for timely captive financial and claims reporting oversight. Provides underwriting coordination and planning for renewal business.ย  Works closely with teams and vendors on any captive issues.

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelorโ€™s Degree or equivalency in a related discipline and at least seven (7) years of experience in Health Benefits Account Management, Program Management, Operations, Underwriting, or other Insurance related field.

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES REQUIREMENTS:

  • 7+ years working in Health Insurance Benefits (preferably carrier/broker)
  • Solid understanding of finance and accounting principles
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and judgment skills
  • Strong team attitude
  • Works well independently and in a team environment
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated training and coaching skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office, especially using Excel, Word, PDF, and other on-line computer systems
  • Comfortable making presentations to small groups
  • Organization, planning, and prioritization skills

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND REPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monthly and annual financial reporting creation and management
  • Monthly claims reporting and reconciliation with carriers
  • Preparation, review, and overall management of captive board meeting materials
  • Accountable for creation and validation of captive proposals
  • Schedule and monitor new captive member onboard calls
  • Captive renewal tracking, reporting, creation of proposals, and finalization with carrier
  • Captive timeline management
  • Captive member maintenance of changes, acquisitions, etc
  • Mass distribution email campaigns
  • Review, prepare, and submit documentation to underwrite renewal business
  • Creation and continuous updating of departmental documents and procedures
  • Provide superior customer service to captive members, brokers, service providers
  • Participate in captive status meetings
  • Assist with training new hires and refresher training for existing colleagues (as needed)

PRIORITIES: 7+ years Health Benefits experience, Strong financial experience, Accuracy, Detail Oriented, Timeliness, Multi-tasking, Vendor Relationships, Positive Team Attitude
