Job description

The Technology Services department of the Wayne County Airport Authority is responsible for providing and managing the Airport Authorityโ€™s technology needs for both Detroit Metro (DTW) and Willow Run (YIP) airports. The Airport Authority is seeking qualified candidates for a full time, on-site IT project manager who will utilize their knowledge, skills, and abilities to assist with implementation and ongoing support of technology projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Planning and Execution: develop detailed project plans, define scope, set timelines, and manage project budget technology initiatives.
  • Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams.
  • Monitor and mitigate risks.
  • Serve as primary point of contact between project team, stakeholders, vendors and leadership.
  • Ensure adherence to technical standards, obtain approval of and track exceptions.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including work plans, schedules, budgets, and performance metrics.
  • Facilitate training and support for end-users of new systems or applications.
  • Perform related duties as directed.
Required Skills
  • Technical Acumen: Understanding of IT concepts, software development, web technologies, cloud computing, and IT infrastructure.
  • Strong leadership skills to guide teams, excellent communication skills, and strong problem-solving abilities.
Education Requirement
  • Bachelors or Associates degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or related field. OR
  • High School Diploma with Minimum 5 years of demonstrated experience working in an enterprise environment.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Three (3) years working as a Project Manager with at least one (1) year in technology
  • Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) OR five (5) years working as a Project Manager with at least two (2) years in technology
  • Proficiency in structuring and administering Microsoft Teams channels, files and permissions.
Preferred Qualifications (or equivalent)
  • Certified Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • Successful delivery of a complex or large-scale IT projects
  • Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools such as MS Project, Jira, or Smartsheet.
