The Lead Business Data Analyst will work remotely, and report to the VP, ERP, Integration & IT. This role plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and usability of the enterprise data platform that powers reporting, analytics, and decision‑making across the company.

While our third‑party partner (Accordion) manages data ingestion, modeling, and dashboard development, this role focuses on governing and validating the work, strengthening data trust, and enabling business stakeholders through high‑quality data, documentation, analysis, and training.

This person sits within the Data Architecture & Engineering Team and partners closely with Marketing, Sales, Operations, Finance, IT, and our consulting partners.

The key responsibilities and duties of this position include, but are not limited to:

Data Quality & Governance:

  • Own data quality validation across certified datasets, KPIs, and semantic layers.

  • Design, maintain, and monitor Data quality rules, alerts, and issue resolution workflows.

  • Perform root‑cause analysis and partner with Accordion or source‑system owners to resolve defects.

  • Ensure correctness, consistency, and alignment of KPI definitions across the organization.

Testing and Release Management:

  • Develop and execute test plans for new datasets, transformations, and reporting assets.

  • Validate Snowflake models (built by Accordion) before promotion to staging/production.

  • Conduct regression testing, automated quality checks, and data reconciliation processes.

  • Manage release documentation and contribute to a clean, governed SDLC.

Documentation & Technical Standards:

  • Maintain clear, comprehensive documentation for datasets, metrics, lineage, and data contracts.

  • Establish and enforce technical standards for naming conventions, transformations, and certification.

  • Build and maintain the enterprise KPI catalog and data dictionary.

Change Management & Business Enablement:

  • Support data governance committees and steward groups.

  • Translate business needs into structured data requirements and acceptance criteria.

  • Lead training sessions and user enablement for Snowflake, Sigma, KPIs, and certified datasets.

  • Serve as a subject‑matter expert representing DIG across cross‑functional initiatives.

Ad-Hoc Data Analysis & Insights:

  • Deliver high‑quality analysis using Snowflake, Sigma, and SQL for fast‑turn business questions.

  • Partner with Finance, Commercial, and Supply Chain to provide insights using certified data.

  • Support root-cause analytics, variance explanations, operational KPIs, and special projects.

Cross-Functional Partnership:

  • Operate as the primary liaison between DIG, Accordion, and business users for data quality and certification.

  • Ensure transformation logic and data models meet business requirements and follow governance standards.

  • Collaborate with business teams to improve data literacy and promote self‑service analytics.

What Success Looks Like:

  • High trust in DIG’s certified datasets and KPIs.

  • Influence and/or design data architecture foundations that analysts help shape and leverage to accelerate time to insight.

  • Improved data literacy and adoption of governed self‑service analytics.

  • Clean, consistent documentation accessible to all analysts.

  • Strong partnership with Accordion and internal functions to deliver reliable, accurate, and timely insights.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years in data analytics, data quality, data engineering support, or BI-focused roles

  • Advanced SQL proficiency (Snowflake preferred).

  • Strong analytical skills with ability to translate data into meaningful business insights.

  • Experience working in CPG, retail, or manufacturing, with deep business acumen in areas such as marketing, planning, sales, manufacturing, or financial analysis.

  • Strong documentation, testing, and data governance capabilities.

  • Excellent communication skills; able to partner across technical and non-technical teams.

  • Understanding of data lineage, semantic modeling, and KPI frameworks.
