Required SkillsBrand management, communication, creative thinkingMarket analysis, advertising, campaign management
Work EnvironmentCreative teams, branding agencies, corporate branding departmentsMarketing teams, advertising agencies, sales departments
Common CertificationsBrand management certifications, marketing degreesDigital marketing certifications, MBA in marketing

While both roles involve marketing principles, a Manager Branding primarily focuses on shaping and maintaining the company's brand image and reputation. In contrast, a Marketing Manager concentrates on executing marketing campaigns to promote products or services. Understanding these differences helps organizations assign the right responsibilities and professionals to each role.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Manager Branding, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Manager Branding, you need a solid background in marketing, brand strategy, and market research, often supported by a relevant degree or equivalent experience. Familiarity with digital marketing tools, analytics platforms, and brand management systems is typically required. Creativity, strong leadership, and excellent communication skills help you inspire teams and build a cohesive brand image. These abilities ensure the brand remains competitive, resonates with target audiences, and drives long-term business growth.

What does a Manager Branding do?

A Manager Branding is responsible for developing and implementing strategies that shape and promote a company's brand identity. They work to ensure consistent messaging across all marketing channels, oversee market research to understand brand perception, and collaborate with creative teams to produce promotional materials. Their goal is to strengthen brand recognition, increase customer loyalty, and differentiate the company from competitors.

How does a Manager Branding typically collaborate with other departments to ensure brand consistency?

A Manager Branding works closely with departments such as marketing, product development, sales, and communications to ensure that brand messaging and visual identity remain consistent across all channels. This often involves regular cross-functional meetings, sharing brand guidelines, and providing feedback on campaigns or product packaging. Effective collaboration helps the organization maintain a cohesive brand image, and may require the Manager Branding to mediate between creative ideas and strategic business goals. Building strong relationships and clear communication channels with other teams is key for success in this role.

Job description

Description

The Account Manager is a proactive relationship builder, organized project leader, and trusted day-to-day partner to both clients and internal teams. As a member of Streetsense's Creative Agency, this role supports branding, marketing, digital, content, and experiential engagements for clients across the real estate and hospitality sectors. They thrive in a fast-paced environment, balancing exceptional client service with strong project management and a keen eye for opportunities to add value.

Reporting to a Senior Account Director within the Agency, this role will independently manage branding and marketing engagements while supporting larger client relationships across the Agency portfolio. The ideal candidate is confident managing clients, leading projects from kickoff through completion, and translating strategic branding and marketing objectives into actionable plans.

This role is ideal for someone who has developed a strong foundation in account management and is ready to take greater ownership of client relationships while continuing to grow their strategic, financial, and leadership skills.

The Account Manager serves as a key connector between clients and internal teams, ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and at the highest level of quality. They are equally comfortable leading client calls, managing timelines and budgets, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, and identifying opportunities to strengthen client partnerships.

Most importantly, they are curious, collaborative, solutions-oriented, and excited to help shape places, brands, and experiences for clients in the real estate industry. This role is best suited for someone with experience in a branding, advertising, marketing, creative, or integrated agency environment who enjoys building client relationships and bringing multidisciplinary creative work to life.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Client Leadership & Relationship Management

  • Independently manage a portfolio of assigned client accounts while partnering with account leadership on larger, more complex engagements.
  • Serve as the primary day-to-day client contact, fostering trusted relationships through proactive communication and exceptional service.
  • Lead client meetings, status calls, project kickoffs, and presentations, ensuring clear communication, alignment, and follow-through.
  • Proactively seek client feedback and identify opportunities to strengthen relationships and enhance the client experience.
  • Stay informed on clients' businesses, competitive landscapes, industry trends, and market developments to bring relevant insights and recommendations to every engagement.

Project & Account Management

  • Coordinate and manage multiple projects simultaneously from kickoff through completion with a high degree of ownership and accountability.
  • Partner with internal team leads to ensure projects are strategically aligned, delivered on time, within budget, and to Streetsense quality standards.
  • Serve as the central point of coordination between clients and internal teams, ensuring information is communicated accurately and efficiently.
  • Maintain project financials including budget tracking, invoicing coordination, forecasting support, and project reconciliation.

Strategy & Growth

  • Support the development and presentation of creative work, proposals, and strategic initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to expand existing client relationships through additional services, new projects, and strategic recommendations.
  • Participate in new business efforts including proposal development, RFP responses, scoping, estimating, and pitch preparation.
  • Represent Streetsense at client, industry, and networking events as appropriate.

Quality Control & Team Collaboration

  • Review deliverables to ensure work is aligned with client objectives, brand standards, strategic goals, and agency quality expectations.
  • Partner closely with strategists, designers, content creators, digital specialists, and production teams to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Demonstrate strong critical thinking by balancing analytical problem-solving with creative and strategic ideas.
  • Maintain a positive, solutions-oriented mindset and contribute to a collaborative, high-performing team culture.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in account management, marketing, branding, advertising, or client services
  • Agency experience strongly preferred
  • Experience working with real estate, residential, mixed-use, hospitality, retail, or placemaking clients preferred
  • Knowledge of New York City, including Manhattan and surrounding boroughs and neighborhoods, as well as familiarity with the local real estate, hospitality, retail, and cultural landscape, is strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage client relationships and multiple concurrent projects
  • Experience developing project scopes, timelines, budgets, and estimates
  • Strong presentation, communication, and meeting facilitation skills
  • Proven ability to build trust with clients and collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a desire to take ownership and contribute to account growth
  • Experience with Wrike, Asana, Monday.com, or similar project management platforms preferred
