Position Purpose:
The Manager, Brand PR is a key member of The Home Depot Public Relations team, responsible for developing and executing strategic external communications that elevate the company's brand, product innovation, and business priorities. This role partners cross-functionally with Marketing, Merchandising, eCommerce, and other internal stakeholders to design and deliver integrated earned media strategies that engage do-it-yourself and professional customers while supporting year-over-year business growth.
The Manager, Brand PR leads the development of compelling brand narratives, drives media and influencer engagement, and ensures alignment across earned and owned channels. This role requires strong media relations expertise, strategic thinking, and disciplined execution to deliver measurable results. Success in this position depends on the ability to influence stakeholders, manage multiple priorities, and translate complex business initiatives into impactful communications that strengthen The Home Depot's reputation and market leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
  • 45% Manage & Support Strategies - Planning and execution of internal and external communications; Serve as communications partner to senior leaders and teams within to amplify key initiatives for both internal and external audiences; Specifically, partner with function and project teams to deliver effective communications that support business objectives; Drive consistency of messaging and partner with internal channel owners to find creative ways to connect company strategy and goals to communications
  • 30% Message Creation - Create messaging and materials for initiative-based and regular, ongoing communications including key messaging and priorities to be readily understood by associates at various level
  • 20% Delivering Results - Develop and deliver a measurable earned media strategy that supports The Home Depot's product innovation objectives and engages The Home Depot's customer base of do-it-yourselfers and professional contractors and drives year-over-year business growth
  • 5% Communication - Develop sustained communications metrics to assess ongoing effectiveness of internal and external communication efforts

Travel Requirements:
  • Typically requires overnight travel 5% to 20% of the time.

Physical Requirements:
  • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

Working Conditions:
  • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Must be eighteen years of age or older.
  • Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of previous agency or in-house PR experience, retail strongly preferred
  • Experience developing and delivering a measurable earned media strategy that supports specific product innovation objectives and engages a customer base to drive year-over-year business growth.
  • Proven experience providing counsel, developing, and executing communications campaigns that support business objectives in collaboration with merchandising, e-commerce, marketing, professional services and other departments within and organization
  • Experience developing strong collaborative partnerships with internal marketing teams to support new marketing and sales initiatives

  • The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
