The Impact You Will Have

The Human Resource Business Partner (HRBP) role is pivotal in driving HR initiatives and enhancing operational efficiency. This position partners with supervisors, managers, and associates within their assigned business units to achieve business outcomes. The HRBPs responsibilities span both administrative and strategic domains, including benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy compliance, and recruitment. The HRBP will collaborate closely with Human Resource Business Partner (HRBP) leadership, HR peers, Employee Relations (ER), Total Rewards, HR operations, organization effectiveness, and Talent Acquisition to support designated areas effectively.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with associates, supervisors, and managers.
  • Participate in developing HR objectives and systems, including metrics and reports.
  • Assist associates and managers with total rewards inquiries as a first escalation point after AskHR.
  • Provide advice and guidance on performance management, talent management, succession planning, compensation, coaching, talent reviews, and lower-tier employee relations issues.
  • Suggest new procedures and policies to enhance employee experience and HR efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with local and national employment laws.
  • Coordinate new-hire onboarding, ensuring an exceptional first-day experience for managers and above.
  • Handle administrative tasks for offboarding and exit interviews, including HRIS data entry and audits.
  • Conduct fact-finding for associate concerns, conflicts, or complaints, and collaborate with other HRBPs and ER Partners to provide effective resolution recommendations on less complex cases.
  • Address employee concerns, provide guidance on HR policies, and promote engagement.
  • Partner with HR centers of excellence to build management capability, develop individuals and teams, and facilitate an inclusive environment that reflects Blue Cross values.
  • Maintain accurate employee records, generate HR reports, and manage Workday changes/movements.
  • Review reporting alignment and assist in timely updates of Workday data following organizational changes.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in human resources, with a focus on generalist functions.
  • High school diploma (or equivalency) and legal authorization to work in the U.S.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR).
  • Experience in a similar industry or company size.
  • Strong knowledge of HR best practices and employment laws.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, ethics, and cultural awareness.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to work autonomously.
  • Advanced proficiency in HRIS (Workday) and other HR-related software.
