The M-Sense Research Group within the new Center for Remote Health Monitoring at Wake Forest University Health Sciences is seeking motivated and enthusiastic researchers to join our interdisciplinary team.
In line with our mission of empowering patients with digital health technologies, researchers will contribute to ongoing, and dynamic research programs that are at the forefront of our field and are positioned for successful translation to market. Projects include efforts to develop digital biomarkers of balance and mobility impairment for use as novel endpoints in clinical trials or as a key component of digital therapeutics for fall prevention, to identify effective digital health strategies for helping adults of every age develop and sustain healthy behaviors, to detect the presence of mental health disorders in young children rapidly at the point of care, and to manage and prevent panic attacks wherever and whenever they occur. Researchers will also contribute to projects across the research enterprise leveraging digital health technologies and have access to funds to support the development of new research projects that leverage resources of the Center for Remote Health Monitoring and the scale of the evolving integrated healthcare system. Our system is currently caring for more than seven million patients in Illinois, Georgia, Alabama, Wisconsin, and the Carolinas.
Specific responsibilities will include software development and validation; development of signal processing and machine learning algorithms; data engineering; data analysis; data visualization; documentation; manuscript, grant proposal, and presentation development; student research mentorship; and reporting.
Successful candidates will have a PhD or equivalent degree and experience working with data from wearable devices, developing and evaluating signal processing and machine learning algorithms, programming in python, and publishing scientific manuscripts in high impact journals.
