LJB's Transportation Practice is focused on improving infrastructure to enhance communities and quality of life. We partner with DOTs, municipalities, public and private agencies to deliver safe, efficient, and future-ready transportation solutions. From roadway and bridge design to multimodal corridors, our team combines technical expertise with a proactive approach to keep people and projects moving forward.
LJB offers challenging and rewarding assignments for co-op students and summer interns. Students work with experienced engineers and are exposed to a variety of civil engineering challenges. They also get the opportunity to work on real world projects in a professional environment. We are currently filling internships and co-ops for our Raleigh, North Carolina office.
Pay: $18+ an hour
TRANSPORTATION ENGINEERING CO-OP ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Work on job assignments related to area of engineering discipline focus
  • Perform routine tasks under close supervision using well established standards, procedures and drawings
  • Students will be exposed to design processes as well as various office and field procedures

TRANSPORTATION ENGINEERING CO-OP ESSENTIAL CREDENTIALS:
Education:
  • Civil engineering major at an accredited university is preferred. Civil Engineering Technology or other Engineering Majors desiring a civil engineering career path will be considered.
  • Students entering their Junior or Senior years are preferred

Qualifications:
  • Some travel may be required
  • U.S. citizenship required

Physical:
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
  • Must be able to travel to various project sites
  • Must be able to access and navigate job sites and construction areas
