Job description

ABOUT US

E-commerce got real-time data infrastructure decades ago. Physical stores still have not. RADAR is changing that.
RADAR is building the data infrastructure layer for the physical world, starting with retail. Our hardware-enabled SaaS platform uses proprietary overhead sensors, software, and AI-powered analytics to locate every product in a store, continuously, down to the fixture. We are deployed across 1,400+ stores with retailers including American Eagle Outfitters and Old Navy, processing tens of billions of real-world events every day, delivering 99%+ accuracy in complex, noisy environments - at fleet scale.
RADAR is one of the best-funded companies in retail technology, backed by a recent Series B financing at a $1 billion valuation. Inventory accuracy is only the beginning. We believe RADAR can become foundational infrastructure for the physical economy, powering new AI-driven commerce experiences across retail and beyond.
Join us if you want to work on a large, unsolved, technically challenging problem with an ambitious team building category-defining technology.

OUR VALUES
  • Mission-Driven: We're transforming retail with cutting-edge technology and building something that truly matters.
  • Collaborative Team: We thrive on curiosity, shared goals, and solving complex problems together.
  • High Impact: You'll make meaningful contributions from day one and help shape the future of our product and company.
  • Clear Communication: We value honesty, humility, and respectful dialogue—everyone's voice matters.
  • Balanced Lives: We work hard, but not at the expense of well-being. We respect time, boundaries, and life outside of work.
  • Diverse Perspectives: We believe better ideas come from diverse backgrounds, experiences, and viewpoints.
  • Empathy-Driven Design: We build with deep respect for our end users, listening closely to their feedback and needs.
ABOUT THE JOB

This is a rare opportunity to sit at the intersection of finance and company strategy at a pivotal moment in RADAR's growth. As Senior Manager, Strategic Finance, you will work directly with the CFO and executive team on the company's most important and complex strategic questions — from how we price our product and enter new markets, to how we allocate capital and tell our story to investors.

This is a generalist role by design. You will move fluidly between projects, bringing analytical rigor, intellectual curiosity, and sound business judgment to a wide range of initiatives. One week you may be building a market sizing model for a new vertical; the next you may be developing a capital allocation framework or preparing materials for a fundraise. You will need to be comfortable with ambiguity, fast on your feet, and able to synthesize complex information into clear, actionable recommendations.

This role is designed to grow with you. High performers will develop deep expertise across strategic finance and operations, build visibility with senior leadership, and be well-positioned to take on broader responsibility as RADAR scales.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Projects & Special Initiatives

  • Own end-to-end strategic analyses on the company's most important questions — from problem framing and data gathering to modeling, synthesis, and recommendation.
  • Support the CFO and executive team on a rotating portfolio of high-priority projects; operate with a high degree of autonomy and deliver with minimal hand-holding.
  • Build frameworks that bring structure to ambiguous problems and enable faster, more confident decision-making across the organization.

Customer Pricing & Unit Economics

  • Assist with RADAR's customer pricing models, analyzing the relationship between price, volume, contract structure, and margin.
  • Build and refine unit economics frameworks — CAC, LTV, payback period, gross margin by customer segment — that inform go-to-market and product strategy.
  • Partner with Sales, Product, and Customer Success to stress-test pricing assumptions and identify opportunities to improve monetization.

New Verticals & Market Expansion

  • Lead market sizing and opportunity assessments for new verticals and geographies RADAR is evaluating.
  • Build go-to-market financial playbooks for new vertical entry — modeling revenue ramp, cost to serve, investment requirements, and expected returns.
  • Develop international market prioritization frameworks that help the company make disciplined decisions about where and when to expand.

Capital Allocation & ROI Frameworks

  • Build ROI models and investment frameworks that help the leadership team evaluate competing priorities and allocate resources to their highest-impact use.
  • Develop business case analyses for major strategic initiatives — new product lines, partnerships, infrastructure investments, and headcount plans.
  • Track outcomes against investment theses; help the organization build a culture of financial accountability around strategic spending.

Fundraising & Investor Preparation

  • Support fundraising processes end to end — financial model preparation, investor narrative development and due diligence support.
  • Help develop and maintain the company's long-range financial plan and the financial story that underpins it.
  • Help prepare materials for board meetings and investor updates, ensuring the financial narrative is clear, compelling, and consistent.

Market Research & Competitive Intelligence

  • Conduct in-depth market research to inform strategic decisions — sizing markets, benchmarking competitors, and identifying industry trends relevant to RADAR's roadmap.
  • Synthesize external research and internal data into concise, executive-ready insights that sharpen RADAR's strategic point of view.
  • Build and maintain a competitive intelligence function that keeps the leadership team informed on market dynamics.
ABOUT YOURequired:
  • Between 2- 4 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, growth equity, management consulting combined with 5+ years of high-caliber strategic finance experience a technology company
  • Exceptional financial modeling skills — can build complex, multi-scenario models from scratch and communicate the output clearly to non-finance audiences
  • Strong generalist instincts — comfortable moving across pricing, market sizing, capital allocation, and competitive analysis without needing to specialize in any one area
  • Demonstrated ability to take an ambiguous problem, structure it independently, and deliver a clear, well-reasoned recommendation
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills; able to distill complex analyses into crisp executive-level narratives
  • High intellectual horsepower — quickly grasps new concepts, industries, and business models; doesn't need the same thing explained twice
  • High agency and ownership mindset — a self-starter who moves fast, takes initiative, and holds themselves accountable to outcomes
  • Low ego, collaborative, coachable — thrives in a team environment and builds trust across functions quickly
  • Operates effectively in fast-paced, ambiguous environments; adapts without losing rigor or attention to detail
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field
Preferred:
  • Experience at a hardware + software company, or exposure to businesses with meaningful COGS and supply chain complexity
  • Experience supporting fundraising processes, investor relations, or board-level communications
  • Familiarity with international market entry analysis or multi-geography go-to-market modeling
  • AI-proficient and enthusiastic about testing and adopting new tools to improve analytical workflows
WHAT YOU'LL DOIn your first 30 days, you will:
  • Develop a deep understanding of RADAR's business model, unit economics, competitive landscape, and financial architecture
  • Meet key partners across the executive team, Sales, Product, Operations, and Accounting
  • Get oriented on active strategic priorities and identify where you can add immediate value
In your first 60 days, you will:
  • Own your first major strategic project end to end — from framing through recommendation
  • Begin contributing to one or more ongoing workstreams (pricing, new vertical analysis, or investor prep)
  • Build trust with key stakeholders through high-quality, rigorous analytical work
In your first 90 days, you will:
  • Have a clear portfolio of active projects and a point of view on the company's most important strategic questions
  • Contribute meaningfully to a board package, investor update, or major leadership decision
  • Be recognized as a reliable, high-judgment partner by the CFO and executive team

At RADAR, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. The expected base salary range for this position is $180,000-$240,000. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience and relevant education or training. You will also be eligible to receive other benefits including: equity, comprehensive medical and dental coverage, life and disability benefits, 401k plan, flexible time off, and paid parental leave.
