We are looking for a Network Engineer to support and strengthen our technology environment in San Antonio, Texas. This role is responsible for building and sustaining secure, high-performing network and cloud infrastructure while ensuring reliable connectivity for users across the organization. The ideal candidate brings strong experience in network operations, Microsoft platforms, and Azure, along with a proactive approach to troubleshooting, security, and service delivery.
Responsibilities:
• Build, configure, and support resilient network and systems environments that meet security, performance, and scalability needs.
• Administer network protection measures by maintaining firewalls, VPN connections, and security appliances across office and cloud-based environments.
• Establish and maintain IP-related standards, technical procedures, and operational guidelines to promote consistency and compliance.
• Diagnose and resolve infrastructure issues involving hardware, software, connectivity, and system performance throughout the organization.
• Provide technical support for Microsoft technologies, including Windows Server, SharePoint, Microsoft 365, and Active Directory services.
• Manage Azure resources such as virtual networks, virtual machines, databases, and identity components, while connecting cloud services with on-premises platforms and enterprise applications.
• Perform vulnerability reviews, coordinate remediation efforts, and apply system patches to reduce operational and security risk.
• Act as an advanced escalation resource for complex technical problems and drive issues through to resolution.
• Maintain accurate service records, manage support priorities effectively, and keep end users informed with clear status updates and outcomes.• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 5 years of experience in IT, with a strong background in network and systems engineering.
• Demonstrated expertise with routing, switching, VPN technologies, and firewall administration in enterprise environments.
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and a solid understanding of cloud and network security practices.
• Proven analytical and troubleshooting ability, with the judgment to work independently and manage competing priorities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with a strong customer service mindset.
• Valid driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record.
• Preferred qualifications include experience with Fortinet products, Cisco networking technologies, Palo Alto or Cisco ASA firewalls, BGP, and certifications such as Azure, Network+, Security+, VMware, or Windows Server administration.
