Because Third Federal associates are the foundation of our success, we take a genuine interest in each of them - from their professional development to their health and wellness.
Role Summary

This role is responsible for the reliability, security, and performance of our voice and telecom environment and supporting core network infrastructure, including exposure to Juniper (Junos) environments and modern software-defined networking (SDN) concepts.
Responsibilities
  • Support day-to-day operations for Avaya, telecom, and voice services, as well as network services, ensuring availability, performance, security, and a high-quality end-user experience.
  • Coordinate effectively with internal teams and vendors/managed service partners as applicable to support service delivery, issue resolution, and ongoing improvements.
  • Oversee administration and health of Avaya and related voice platforms (e.g., Avaya IP Office, ACR/Xima, Voicemail Pro), including backups, log reviews, upgrades, and incident resolution.
  • Support telecom services such as carrier coordination, circuit provisioning, SIP trunking, call flow support, and issue resolution across business and call center environments.
  • Partner with Call Center leadership to design, implement, and optimize ACD/contact-center workflows and reporting.
  • Coordinate with carriers and vendors for circuits, SIP trunking, installations, troubleshooting, and billing reviews.
  • Plan and execute telecom and network changes with appropriate testing, rollback planning, and communication; participate in change control processes.
  • Meet with stakeholders to assess telecom and connectivity needs, conduct site surveys, and provide recommendations.
  • Handle new employee setups, adds/moves/changes for physical equipment and software.
  • Provide remote and/or onsite support for relocation of branches and branch systems.
  • Provide support for network monitoring, incident response, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis across routing, switching, wireless, and perimeter connectivity.
  • Support lifecycle management for network infrastructure, including standards, upgrades, patching, configuration backups, and documentation.

Requirements
  • Experience supporting enterprise Avaya, telecommunications, and voice services operations in a regulated environment.
  • Hands-on experience supporting voice/UC and contact-center environments, including Avaya IP Office and related applications, with responsibility for monitoring, backups, upgrades, and incident resolution.
  • Knowledge of carrier services, circuit provisioning, SIP trunking, and telecom billing review processes.
  • Strong foundation in TCP/IP, routing and switching concepts, and network troubleshooting methodology.
  • Understanding of SDN concepts (e.g., centralized control/management, policy-based networking, segmentation/micro-segmentation) and ability to translate concepts into operational requirements.
  • Working knowledge of DNS and DHCP in Microsoft environments.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and multitasking skills with strong written and verbal communication.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across teams (Security, Infrastructure, Applications, and Call Center) and with external vendors.
  • Ability to travel occasionally and work after hours as needed.

Preferred
  • Strong experience with SIP trunking, Avaya, and unified communications in multi-site environments.
  • Juniper certifications (e.g., JNCIA/JNCIS) or equivalent network certifications (vendor-agnostic, Network+, etc.) with hands-on experience.
  • Experience with SDN/network virtualization and policy platforms (vendor-agnostic), and/or network segmentation strategies.
  • Network automation exposure (e.g., scripting, templating, or orchestration tooling) and configuration management best practices.
  • Familiarity with ITIL-based incident/problem/change management and operational metrics/SLAs.
