Plant Vehicle Engineer
Minimum 5 Years experience as a Plant Vehicle Engineer
Venteon is currently seeking an experienced Plant Engineer to fill an opening with a manufacturing company located in Warsaw, Indiana. The ideal candidates should have a strong background quality and manufacturing in an automotive plant / body shop.
Requirements of the Plant Vehicle Engineer
  • Additional technical training (Lean, 5S, Kaizen, SPC, Green Belt, etc.) preferred
  • 8+ years of experience with a Bachelor s degree, 6 years with a Master s, or 3 years with a PhD (or equivalent), preferably in Automotive Body, Process, or Industrial Engineering
  • 4+ years of experience in vehicle development and launch, with understanding of the full product lifecycle
  • Strong knowledge of BOMs, OEE, manufacturability, process design/validation, assembly methods, and cost reduction
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and documents
  • Experience with AUTOCAD, CATIA, SOLIDWORKS, or similar tools
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver detailed, optimized solutions
  • Hands-on assembly line experience with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Experience with structured problem-solving methods (Six Sigma, DFSS, etc.)
  • DFM and DFA experience

Responsibilities of the Plant Vehicle Engineer
  • Support resolution of Body Department issues from plant, field, and suppliers
  • Collaborate with Design Engineering to launch products with minimal impact to plant metrics
  • Drive optimization of parts, assemblies, and systems
  • Conduct process simulations, risk assessments, and data analysis to improve performance
  • Support plant layout, tooling, material flow, and waste reduction improvements
  • Participate in launch activities including design reviews, builds, and validations
  • Support prototype builds, process development, and equipment improvements
  • Assist with launch and model year change activities
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to integrate new parts and processes
  • Work with Manufacturing to improve assembly processes aligned with design intent
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and engineering standards
  • Monitor KPIs and take proactive action to prevent defects
  • Partner with internal and external teams to implement best practices in inspection and process control
