OVERVIEW: 

The Senior Consultant will utilize their technical education, experience, and training to support Built Environment Solutions (BES) projects for our property owner, developer, and contractor clients.

The Salary Range for this position is $104,100 - $156,100 and is dependent on education, experience, location and certifications/licensure.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with the project team to lead the design, assessment, and/or construction of commercial, residential, and industrial buildings.
  • Collaborate with consultants to actively manage projects, including budgeting and client relationships.
  • Perform field assessments, including working from ladders, lifts, scaffolds, confined spaces, rooftops, and mechanical, electrical, and fire protection equipment rooms.
  • Provides technical expertise within the field of architecture, engineering, construction, or other related fields for projects involving assessments, upgrades, maintenance, and restoration of the built environment, as well as components of design related to new construction.
  • Research building codes and standards (historical and current).
  • Review/research product submittals, samples, mock-ups, testing reports, data sheets, and warranties.

REQUIRED SKILLS and ABILITIES:

  • Good report-writing skills are required.
  • Must be able to interact and communicate with clients at all levels (e.g., internal and external) and work independently with good judgment and critical thinking skills.
  • Familiarity with general construction principles and processes.•

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION and CERTIFICATIONS:

  • B.S. in architecture, engineering, building science, or other construction-related degree or higher.
  • 6-10 years of experience as a professional in the design, assessment, and/or construction of building systems. Experience includes providing construction documents, administrative services, and project management for building construction.
  • Registered Architect designations are a plus.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS, OVERTIME, and TRAVEL:

  • Physical Demands – Work is performed both in an office setting and at outside locations (i.e. industrial, construction and/or residential sites). The employee is frequently required to stand, walk on sloped and flat roofs, sit, climb ladders, bend, climb inside attics, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, hear, and drive a motor vehicle to client sites or job sites. Working at heights, including accessing buildings by ladders, swing stages, and mechanical lifts may be necessary depending on assigned discipline. The employee may lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Clear vision and depth perception are also necessary. The employee must be sharp, focused, and alert when conducting inspections, speaking, and interacting with clients, preparing drawings and written reports.
  • Overtime – There will be some occasions where overtime (or working after normal business hours) will be required to meet the demands of the position.
  • Travel – This position requires up to 25% local area travel. Some out-of-area and overnight travel may be required.
