Job description

Service Line Sales- Software Engineering Group

In this role, the SLS (Service Line Specialist) will focus on Software Engineering Group(SEG) which covers the key areas such as AI engineering, Digital Engineering, Software and Product Engineering, Enterprise Application Modernization and Application Development & Maintenance Services along with Quality Assurance Services infusing AI in every aspect and leading and helping clients in AI adoption for these capabilities.

Overview

In this role, the SLS (Service Line Specialist) will focus on Software Engineering Group(SEG) which covers the key areas such as AI engineering, Digital Engineering, Software and Product Engineering, Enterprise Application Modernization and Application Development & Maintenance Services along with Quality Assurance Services infusing AI in every aspect and leading and helping clients in AI adoption for these capabilities.

He or she will balance client/project responsibilities with business development and sales responsibilities and driving new ideas and thought leadership using AI . She/he shall be identifying, qualifying and closing new business opportunities within SPE. The position also requires working with and leveraging a top-notch client leadership team. The individual will also be developing strategies and tactics for further penetrating the account in addition to cross-selling Cognizant’s emerging services. The SLS will collaborate with the Client Partners in achieving “trusted advisor” status and have a mix of strategic and tactical management experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead conversations with clients on AI thought leadership and AI adoption for Software engineering ( development, maintenance, testing etc). These includes leading conversations, running session and workshops with clients and leading PoC/MVP working with delivery teams on a day to day basis
  • Own business development and create opportunities. Scope of responsibilities include identifying opportunities and selling solutions in the areas S/W engineering, Application Development & Support, Digital/Product Engineering, Cloud migration/adoption, QE&A with AI native approach and solution
  • Develop strong, long-term relationships with Account/Client organizations
  • Work in a matrix organization, responsible for Solution sales driven activities
  • Will own a portfolio of accounts and carry Revenue and TCV targets by account and for overall portfolio. Delivery double digit growth for the porfolio
  • Actively contribute in Building Roadmap for Offerings, Ecosystem of Partnerships, work with Delivery teams to generate new business
  • Experience working with Banking customers in delivering digital solutions
  • Should be willing to travel on business purposes
Required Experience

5+ years of experience sales, delivery, managing, consulting with at least two years of experience and solid understanding of AI including gen AI, physical and agentic

Prior experience of pre-sales, technology/solution selling, managing practice and clients is a must

Strong technical skills with ability to find technical solutions to business problems and engage the potential customer with “Consultative selling and AI” is essential.

Knowledge of industry trends, and deep understanding of at least one Hyperscaler capabilities ( Anthropic, Google, AWS, Microsoft Open AI) and/ or experience with likes of Palantir, Cursor, Loveable, Cognition and such. Experience with AI start up will be a plus

Strong oral and written communication skills and executive presentation and persuasion skills

Ability to interface at all levels of an organization (internal & external)

Experience working with Banking and Financial customers

Salary and Other Compensation

The annual salary for this position is between $160,000-$175,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual bonus program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
