Join Dexcom's advanced sensor development team, where we're pushing the boundaries of wearable biosensor technology. This technical leadership role is part of a high-impact group focused on developing precision coating processes for our next-generation continuous analyte monitoring systems.

We work at the intersection of chemistry, engineering, and manufacturing scale-up-bringing together cutting-edge coating technologies and regulated medical device standards. If you're passionate about thin-film coatings, flexible electronics, and solving complex process challenges, this is the team for you.

Where you come in:

  • You will lead the development and optimization of wet thin-film coating processes for applying sensitive chemical formulations onto flexible substrates.

  • You will evaluate and implement advanced coating technologies such as slot-die, jet/contact dispensing, and other related methods.

  • You will design lab-scale coating processes that have a pathway towards high-volume manufacturing environments.

  • You will establish metrology and process control strategies to ensure coating uniformity, controlled coating thickness, and minimal material waste.

  • You will collaborate cross-functionally with formulation scientists, equipment engineers, and sensor development teams to ensure robust process integration.

  • You will troubleshoot coating defects and drive continuous improvement in yield, throughput, and material utilization.

  • You will mentor junior engineers and contribute to Dexcom's coating technology roadmap.

  • You will ensure coating processes meet regulatory standards and support validation activities (IQ/OQ/PQ).

What makes you successful:

  • You possess an advanced degree in Chemical Engineering or other related technical discipline

  • You have deep expertise in wet thin-film coating technologies, including slot-die, contact, and/or jet dispensing.

  • You are skilled in fluid dynamics, rheology, and surface science as applied to coating processes.

  • You have hands-on experience with coating equipment setup, tuning, and troubleshooting.

  • You are familiar with electro-chemical processes

  • Your proficiency includes scaling processes to high-volume manufacturing and integrating with production systems.

  • You are familiar with ISO 13485 and FDA GMP requirements for regulated manufacturing environments.

  • You have strong analytical skills and use data-driven approaches to optimize process performance.

  • You are an excellent communicator and collaborator, able to lead cross-functional initiatives and mentor others.

Education and Experience:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor'sdegree in a technical discipline, anda minimum of 13+ years relatedexperience or a Master's degree and8+ years equivalent industryexperience or a PhD and 5+ years of experience.
