Job description

As a Airworthiness Support Engineer with MTSI you will perform activities associated with system safety requirements, planning, integration, design review, airworthiness assessment, and technical risk management for mutli-domain systems, and recommend solutions. This position will be located in the National Capital Region (NCR).
Your essential job functions will include but may not be limited to:
  • Supports design, interpretation, and analysis of technical solutions to complex projects.
  • Provides input to the Government customer concerning risks to performance, schedule, and budget due to either proposed Contractor plans or Contractor's execution of accepted plans.
  • Ensures the quality of the program, project, or task deliverables meet or exceed standards or metrics and assesses such deliverables to ensure that final deliverables will meet the warfighting purpose for which they are intended.
  • Coordinates across DoW airworthiness communities to support delivery milestones.
  • Tracks and advises design trades and associated cost, schedule, and technical impacts to requirements.
  • Coordinates with engineering to integrate supportability requirements into development efforts.

Required Experience:
  • 15+ years' experience working on Air Force platforms
  • Technical & regulatory experience in achieving airworthiness certification
  • Familiarization with and fulfillment of requirements in AFI 62-601 (USAF Airworthiness Certification), DoDI 5030.61 (DoD Airworthiness Policy), and MIL-STD-882E (System Safety)
  • System configuration management experience
  • Ability to work on high-visibility, mission-critical aspects of a program and perform all functional duties independently
  • Ability to communicate both orally and in writing concisely and with technical accuracy
  • Ability to translate complex ideas and data into simple, actionable recommendations or easily differentiated courses of action

Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor Degree in a related field
  • Master's Degree DESIRED

Clearance Requirements:
  • Active TS/SCI with current or previous SAP

The pay range for this position is $180,000/year to $230,000/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on established government contract ranges, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, and other factors. MTSI offers a full range of medical benefits, 401k, ESOP, paid time off, and other benefits, dependent on the position offered. Base pay information is based on market location.
