Senior Land Surveyor (CA PLS)- Full Time
Location: San Diego, CA, 92127

What you will be doing:

  • Manage and contribute to production of various types of surveying related to infrastructure and land development projects
  • Perform tasks including Boundary Surveys, Topographical Surveys, Right of Way Surveys, Terrestrial and Mobile Laser Scanning, Legal Descriptions, Horizontal and
  • Vertical Control Networks, Aerial Mapping (fixed wing and drone), Construction Staking, As-built Surveys and Mapping, GIS services and various other mapping exhibits
    Assess project requirements
  • Develop/recommend a sound approach or application to meet the needs of the client
  • Ensure that project deliverables satisfy project requirements
  • Prepare and/or review proposals, price quotes, subcontractor expenses, budgets, and invoices
  • Manage and enhance project quality by providing ideas and suggestions to the team aimed at improving the effectiveness of their role, and of the project activities in general
  • Participate in corporate initiatives to meet the company’s goals for sales, profitability, quality and safety
  • Supervise and provide QA/QC on assigned survey deliverables and calculations
  • Perform other incidental and related geospatial duties as required

Experience you will need:

  • Must be a California Professional Licensed Land Surveyor (PLS)
  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or 6 years of survey experience is required
  • Minimum of 5 years as a Geospatial Project Manager is preferred
  • Project experience in public utilities and Transportation industry is preferred
  • Must have extensive knowledge working with Trimble field equipment and Trimble office software
  • Comprehensive understanding of the California Land Tenure system and boundary adjustments
  • Working knowledge of production processes in AutoCAD Civil3D and Trimble Business Center (TBC)
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office products like Word, Excel, Teams and PowerPoint
  • Must have developed the following skills; leadership, oral and written communication skills, planning, team work, decision making, judgment and problem solving
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record required
