Hands-on ABAP development of custom ABAP applications Adobe Forms development OOABAP CDS Views OData No UI5 / Fiori developers. Not looking for full stack or front-end. Resume needs to reflect heavy back-end custom application development experience. Candidates need deep technical hands-on ABAP experience. Not looking for a resume reader. Great communication about their recent project. Location: San Antonio, Texas – 5 days/week onsite

Role Overview

We are seeking two experienced ABAP Backend Developers for a contract role extending through the end of 2026. This position involves building a custom application within an S/4HANA environment. The role requires the ability to work independently with little guidance to develop complex ABAP solutions from high-level functional design documents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver complex custom ABAP solutions independently within an S/4HANA environment.
  • Work with technical and functional teams to design, analyze, and develop prioritized solutions.
  • Utilize Object-Oriented ABAP, CDS views, RFC, BAPI, and BADI for custom development.
  • Extend and integrate new solutions with pre-existing custom applications.
  • Create and manage Adobe Forms using Adobe LiveCycle Designer.
  • Resolve system defects identified during the testing phase.
  • Adhere to development standards and follow the change management process for deployment.
  • Gain a thorough understanding of the solution's application architecture and database structure.
Required Qualifications
  • Experience with S/4HANA and object-oriented ABAP (OOABAP).
  • Proficiency with CDS views, OData, and the ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP).
  • Strong skills in full lifecycle ABAP custom development, including RFC, BADI, and BAPI.
  • Demonstrated experience with Adobe Forms
  • Ability to work independently and develop solutions from functional design documents.
  • Strong communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working within a UI5 project to understand the architecture.
  • Knowledge of TSW (Trader's and Scheduler's Workbench) or IS-Oil modules.
  • Familiarity with new S/4HANA coding syntax and best practices.
