Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Construction Estimator to prepare accurate, competitive bids for commercial interior construction projects. This role is responsible for developing complete cost estimates for projects involving drywall, metal framing, acoustical ceilings, commercial flooring, and interior finish systems, from initial plan review through project handoff.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in commercial interior estimating, excels at quantity takeoffs and cost analysis, and understands how to develop competitive bids while minimizing project risk. You'll work closely with Project Managers, vendors, subcontractors, and clients to ensure every estimate is complete, accurate, and positioned for successful project execution.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare detailed estimates for commercial drywall, metal framing, acoustical ceilings, flooring, and related interior construction projects.
  • Review architectural drawings, specifications, contracts, and bid documents to determine project scope and requirements.
  • Perform accurate quantity takeoffs for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontracted work.
  • Solicit, evaluate, and compare pricing from suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Develop detailed cost estimates, budgets, bid proposals, and supporting documentation.
  • Identify scope gaps, exclusions, constructability concerns, value engineering opportunities, and project risks before bid submission.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers, field personnel, vendors, and clients to clarify project requirements.
  • Maintain organized estimating files, bid records, and project documentation.
  • Support project turnover by providing estimate reviews, scope clarifications, and budget information to operations teams.
  • Stay current on material pricing, labor trends, and industry best practices to improve estimating accuracy.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of estimating experience in commercial interior construction.
  • Experience estimating projects involving drywall, metal framing, acoustical ceilings, commercial flooring, or related interior finish trades is required.
  • Strong understanding of commercial construction methods, materials, and estimating practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, specifications, contracts, and bid documents.
  • Experience performing detailed quantity takeoffs, cost analysis, budgeting, and bid preparation.
  • Proficiency with Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, PlanSwift, or similar estimating software is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary based on experience.
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • 401(k) with company match.
  • Paid time off and company holidays.
  • Stable pipeline of commercial interior construction projects.
  • Collaborative team environment with long-term career growth opportunities.
  • Ongoing professional development and advancement opportunities.
