Salary Range:$65,780 to $84,878 annually. Compensation will be commensurate upon experience and qualifications.This position is Exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) overtime provisions.

Summary
The HRIS Analyst serves as the primary liaison between Human Resources, campus departments, University Information Technology, and CU System partners to support and enhance human resource systems and business processes. This position is responsible for analyzing, maintaining, and improving HR technology solutions that support the employee lifecycle, including Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), talent acquisition, payroll, and related human capital management functions. Working closely with HR staff, campus stakeholders, and technical teams, the HRIS Analyst gathers and documents business requirements, analyzes processes, identifies opportunities for improvement, and helps implement technology solutions that enhance efficiency, data integrity, compliance, and the employee experience. The position collaborates with IT and system partners to evaluate new functionality, recommend system enhancements, test solutions, and support implementation efforts. The HRIS Analyst plays a key role in ensuring HR systems effectively meet the operational and strategic needs of the university through process optimization, system configuration, reporting, and data analysis.
Essential Functions
The duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
(55%) Human Resources Applications
  • Serve as the functional subject matter expert for HR systems and related business processes, including but not limited to HRIS functions - applicant tracking, talent acquisition, performance management, compensation, payroll, timekeeping, electronic employee files, automated forms and workflows, and various HR communication tools (e.g. website, blog, email tools).
  • Assist with new business application implementations, as well as enhancements and upgrades for existing applications.
  • Provide application support, end-user training, and continuous improvement of these processes and systems.
  • Serves as primary security role coordinator.

(20%) Process Engineering
  • Review and analyze existing HR processes and workflows, partner with process owners and subject matter experts to document workflows and process requirements.
  • Identify opportunities for automation, efficiency, and simplification.
  • Lead and manage strategic process improvement projects and initiatives including change management.
  • Support roll-out and communication of HR process improvements.
  • Create and maintain a repository of process flows and other related technical communications.

(10%) Testing
  • Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and University Information Systems (UIS) to develop testing plans for functionality enhancements and software upgrades.
  • Ensure system modifications pass first level of testing, prior to handing off to SMEs for 2nd level of testing.
  • Serve as testing coordinator for HR system implementation.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and simple issue resolution before recommending escalation to campus OIT or system UIS.

(10%) Business Intelligence/Analysis
  • Serve as the HR business analyst in cross campus HR technology projects. Identify and document business requirements for Human Resources and cross-functional stakeholders for new and enhanced systems/functions to improve and streamline business processes and performance.
  • Responsible for design specifications, data integrity, troubleshooting and issue resolution.
  • Collects and analyzes large amounts of HR data through various complex databases, translating data into appropriate metrics.
  • Align data management and reporting practices with other data reporting departments.
  • Prepares reports and participates in the design of HR dashboards.
  • Responds to ad hoc data and report requests if data set is not already available.

(5%) Other Duties:
  • In times of increased team workload, may coordinate and process new employee entries into the HCM system, process employment change letters, reappointments, and position data updates through imports or directly into HCM. Follows up with employees for needed documentation.
  • In times of increased team workload, process employment separation to include submitting final pay, auditing leave balance, processing department notifications and ensuring all appropriate appointments and supplemental pays are ended.
  • Serve as a back up for campus eComm communications.

Qualifications
  • Must have a Bachelor's degree in a field related to human resources or information technology from an accredited institution.
  • Progressively responsible HRIS experience, including advanced queries is required.
  • Must have experience supporting HR, payroll, talent acquisition, or other human capital management systems.
  • Demonstrated experience with process analysis, system configuration, implementation, testing, and reporting is required.
  • Must have strong analytical, problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with both functional and technical stakeholders in a complex organizational environment is required.
  • To qualify applicants must have experience working with SQL Database or database reporting tools Strong Project Management and prioritization skills.
  • Working knowledge of HR best practices is required.
  • A Master's degree in a field related to human resources or information technology is preferred.
  • Knowledge of higher education HR business processes and regulatory requirement is preferred.
  • Highly qualified applicants will have OnBase and PeopleSoft HCM experience.
  • Experience with web content tools, such as DRUPAL is preferred.
