POSITION DUTIES

This administrative support position serves the\r\nDPSCS Chief Medical Officer (CMO) and Deputy Director of Clinical Services\r\nrequiring regular independent judgment and analysis when applying and\r\ninterpreting administrative plans and/or policies. This position assists with,\r\ncoordinates, compiles/processes data for, and maintains tracking databases for\r\nassigned programs, primarily the morbidity/mortality program and the Public\r\nInformation Act representation for Clinical Services. The position serves as a\r\nliaison between Clinical Services and DPSCS Commissioners, Wardens, other\r\nprograms and offices within the department, and the contracted health care\r\nvendors. \r\n\r\nThe position will receive all notifications of\r\ndeath of individuals under DPSCS custody and follow through with the contracted\r\nmedical vendor, the Agency Contract Operations Managers, and the Intelligence\r\nand Investigative Division to receive and process all death-related documents\r\nas required by policy. The position is responsible for receiving and processing\r\nall PIA requests directed to Clinical Services and must support the Chief\r\nMedical Officer's office by gathering and providing relevant information in\r\nresponse to media requests. \r\n\r\nThe position shall possess the skills necessary\r\nto draft memoranda as requested on behalf of the CMO and Deputy Director of\r\nClinical Services, manage meeting schedules, take minutes, receive and\r\ncoordinate responses to family/constituent complaints and manage excel\r\ndatabases for incarcerated individuals' deaths and PIA requests.\r\n

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an\r\naccredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.\r\nExperience: Five years performing\r\nsecretarial work or clerical work involving typing duties.\r\nNotes:\r\n1. Additional secretarial or\r\nclerical experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the\r\nrequired education.\r\n2. Thirty credit hours with a major\r\nin secretarial science or office technology from an accredited college may be\r\nsubstituted at the rate of thirty credits for one year of experience for\r\nup to two years of the required experience.\r\n\r\n\r\n3. Candidates may\r\nsubstitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned\r\nofficer in Administration or Personnel Specialist classifications or\r\nAdministrative, Clerical, or Office Services specialty codes in the Special\r\nAssistant or Secretarial fields of work on a year-for-year basis for the\r\nrequired experience.\r\n\r\n

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

1. Experience in creating reports &\r\nstoring data in Via Microsoft Excel & Word. \r\n2. Experience managing correspondence from\r\nIncarcerated Individuals and/or their families. \r\n
