Your Role

Core Pillars of ETL maintenance and Development

  • Pipeline Development: Build and optimize scalable data integration processes using tools like SnapLogic, SSIS, Informatica, or Talent.
  • Data Transformation: Clean, deduplicate, and format data so it is reliable and consistent for end-users.
  • Data Modeling: Structure and define the storage of large-scale datasets within data warehouses or data lakes.
  • Performance & Maintenance: Troubleshoot pipeline failures, monitor data quality, and schedule continuous data updates.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with business analysts, data scientists, and solutions architects to align data workflows with business needs.
  • Monitoring & Alerts: Setting up automated logging and error notifications (e.g., using tools like Databricks ETL Tools) to catch pipeline failures before they impact business decisions.
  • Incident Management: Investigating failed jobs, identifying corrupted data, and applying hotfixes or triggering automated data-recovery routines.
  • Performance Tuning: Diagnosing bottlenecks and refining transformation logic to minimize processing overhead and ensure shorter maintenance windows.
  • Source/Destination Updates: Managing schema drift and updating connectors when third-party APIs or source databases change.
  • Database Programming: Develop and optimize complex T-SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and triggers to support business rules and reporting.
  • Scripting & Automation: Write and maintain Unix/Linux shell scripts (e.g., Bash, Korn) to automate batch processing, data extraction, and file transfers.
  • System Support & Monitoring: Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve database application issues and server faults. Ensure high availability for critical business applications.
  • Performance Tuning: Analyze execution plans, manage indexes, and fine-tune SQL queries and server configurations to improve throughput.
  • Data Migration: Build procedures to extract, transform, and load (ETL) large datasets between disparate systems and flat files.
  • Collaboration: Work alongside DBAs, developers, and QA teams to support deployment, maintenance, and system upgrades.

On-Premises vs. Cloud Support

  • On-Premises: Requires heavy, hands-on IT maintenance (managing hardware, software updates, and server downtime)
  • Cloud & SaaS: Providers usually handle infrastructure management, upgrades, and connector maintenance automatically, shifting the focus of your support team strictly to data quality and business logic.

The base compensation range for this role in the posted location is: $70,176- $170,040.
