Mammography Radiologist

Job Description

We are looking for a per diem Mammography Fellowship trained or experienced Mammography Radiologist. This individual would come on site, here in Mammoth Lakes, California, on a regular schedule to read screening mammograms, diagnostic mammograms, be present for and read breast ultrasounds, perform ultrasound guided breast biopsies for 2-3 weekdays at a time, 1 time a month or at an agreed to interval.

There may be an opportunity to read the regular films (CT, MRI, Xray, DEXA, US, etc) as well if that is of interest, but at this point we are looking for a Mammography Specialist to come opposite the current Mammography Radiologist as the primary position of interest.

The Radiologist may be consulted on tough cases for thoughts and advice when offsite occasionally.

Responsibilities
  • Read screening / diagnostic mammograms, and breast ultrasounds
  • Performs ultrasound guided breast biopsies
  • Consult with patients with diagnostic mammograms regarding findings
  • Gives technologists direction on additional views needed, feedback on positioning and image quality.
  • Provides all necessary MQSA CME, annual number documentation annually.
  • Consults with other mammography radiologist on tough cases.
  • Hospital covers malpractice insurance
Qualifications
  • Enjoy working as a team and collaborating with co-workers for best patient outcomes
  • Enjoy the outdoors and the recreational opportunities offered by the Eastern Sierra
  • A good listener and astute observer, comfortable interacting with patients at a stressful time in their lives
  • California licensed MD with robust mammography experience, though we prefer a fellowship in mammography
  • Ability to work effectively with patients, peers, physicians, and ancillary departments
