Saw Operator

Houston, Texas, United States

$ 16.00 - 17.00 (US Dollar)

Saw Operator

Ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience working with metal cutting saws.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Reports to saw manager and operations manager.
  • Operate different types of saws including Hyd-Mech, Do-All, Amada, & high-speed circular saws.
  • Operate overhead crane with drop down controls.
  • Assist in making pallets of material for shipment.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Complete and maintain necessary paperwork for material.
  • Read and interpret cut tickets.
  • Cut all production orders to exact customer specifications.
  • Participate in Department training and meetings.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient with using a tape measure and ability to take accurate measurements within 1/16 of an inch Previous forklift experience required, minimum of 3 years.
  • Must be able to convert decimal to fractions.
  • Should have good oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be detail-oriented and mechanically inclined
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be dependable and reliable. -A self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work overtime, as needed, if necessary.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds if needed

Must be able to stand for long periods of time

Must be able to bend and squat occasionally Cannot be colorblind

Must be able to work in all-weather elements.

Needed:

High School Diploma or GED required.

Steel toes required

Pre-employment drug screen and criminal background screen required.

2nd shift 1pm to 10:30 pm Monday - Saturday
