  • Coordinate or lead outreach and communications with regulatory agencies and external stakeholders.
  • Monitor statutory and regulatory developments impacting import operations and proactively identify emerging compliance requirements.
  • Track pending legal and regulatory changes and assess operational impact.
  • Partner cross-functionally with legal, operations, logistics, and compliance teams to strengthen import controls and procedures, including developing policy playbooks, standard operating procedures, and other related strategy documents.
  • Support internal audits, investigations, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist in developing policies, procedures, and training related to import compliance and customs operations.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in customs brokerage, import compliance, or trade compliance operations.
  • Strong working knowledge of CBP regulations and the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE).
  • Direct experience with air transportation import processes and customs entry procedures.
  • Experience designing, implementing, or managing compliance tracking and reporting systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze regulatory trends, monitor performance metrics, and improve compliance workflows.
  • Knowledge of U.S. import regulations, customs valuation, classification, and broker management practices.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced regulatory environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Licensed U.S. Customs Broker preferred.
  • J.D. and legal experience
  • Experience engaging directly with regulatory agencies or leading regulator communications.
  • Background in compliance operations, governance, risk management, or legal/regulatory affairs.
  • Experience supporting enterprise-level import compliance programs.

Desired Attributes

  • Detail-oriented and highly organized
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical mindset
  • Comfortable working across legal, operational, and technical teams
  • Proactive in identifying regulatory risk and operational improvements
  • Able to translate complex regulatory requirements into actionable processes

Compensation & Benefits

The salary will be determined based on the candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, competencies and location, ensuring a competitive and attractive offer.
