Job Overview
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the repair, upkeep, and preventive maintenance of hotel facilities, guest rooms, and equipment. This role ensures that all building systems operate safely and efficiently, supporting a comfortable, well-maintained environment that enhances the guest experience.
The technician performs hands-on maintenance work and responds quickly to service requests to minimize downtime and guest disruption. This position operates in a fast-paced hotel environment requiring strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a guest-focused service mindset.
This role involves active, physical work throughout the property, including guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces. The position requires flexibility to work varied schedules, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call availability for emergencies. Success in this role requires reliability, technical ability, and a commitment to quality workmanship and guest satisfaction.
Job Responsibilities
Maintenance Operations
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs in guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces.
  • Troubleshoot and repair issues involving plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliances, and carpentry.
  • Replace or repair fixtures, fittings, and basic equipment as needed.
  • Assist in ensuring all building systems operate safely and efficiently.

Preventive Maintenance
  • Complete assigned preventive maintenance tasks on schedule.
  • Inspect guest rooms and facilities to identify maintenance issues early.
  • Report major issues or system failures to supervisors promptly.
  • Support upkeep of accurate maintenance records as required.

Guest Experience
  • Respond promptly and professionally to guest maintenance requests.

Tools & Inventory
  • Properly use, maintain, and store tools and equipment.

Collaboration & Communication
  • Work closely with maintenance leadership and team members to complete tasks.

Job Requirements
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience: 1-3+ years of maintenance, repair, or general handyman experience required, preferably in a hospitality or commercial environment.
Travel required: No travel required; position is property-based.
Physical requirements:
  • Frequent walking throughout all hotel areas, including guest rooms and service areas.
  • Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, and climbing ladders.
  • Regular lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lbs.
