Job description

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading all aircraft maintenance operations while ensuring every aircraft meets the company's high standards of quality, safety, and FAA compliance. This position oversees maintenance personnel, manages workflow, coordinates with outside maintenance vendors, and ensures aircraft move efficiently from acquisition through delivery. Success in this role requires exceptional leadership, strong organizational skills, aviation maintenance expertise, and the ability to balance quality, profitability, and customer deadlines.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Maintenance Operations • Direct all maintenance activities for company-owned and brokered aircraft. • Ensure all maintenance is completed in accordance with FAA regulations and AirMart quality standards. • Manage maintenance scheduling to maximize aircraft throughput and minimize downtime. • Monitor project timelines, labor hours, and overall profitability. • Coordinate maintenance priorities with aircraft sales and acquisitions teams. Team Leadership • Supervise: o Aircraft Mechanics o Aircraft Detail Specialists o Hangar Assistants o Maintenance Coordinator o Chief Inspector • Assign daily work priorities. • Coach, mentor, and develop maintenance personnel. • Conduct performance evaluations. • Approve employee time off. • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Project Management • Manage maintenance workflow using Gantt charts and QuickBase. • Ensure all projects remain on schedule. • Track labor hours and job costing. • Communicate delays and revised completion dates proactively. • Coordinate outside maintenance vendors and specialty repair facilities. Inventory & Parts Management • Oversee aircraft parts purchasing. • Maintain organized inventory levels. • Ensure required parts are ordered promptly. • Monitor vendor performance and delivery timelines. • Control maintenance costs while maintaining quality. Safety & Compliance • Ensure compliance with: o FAA regulations o OSHA standards o MSDS requirements o Company SOPs • Promote a clean, organized, and safe maintenance environment. Administrative Responsibilities • Review and approve maintenance department timecards. • Ensure labor hours are entered daily into QuickBase. • Prepare payroll information for Accounting. • Plan for employee vacations and staffing coverage. • Assist leadership with future maintenance capacity planning.
Requirements
