  • Maintain basic working knowledge of building and grounds maintenance
  • Performs daily tasks as assigned
  • Performs daily mechanical room checks
  • Performs routine preventive maintenance on all equipment and facilities
  • Performs basic applications of aspects of building repair and maintenance
  • Maintain clean workstation and job site
  • Maintain high quality of work
  • Takes pride and ownership in Damar's facilities and assigned work areas
  • Attends mandatory staff meeting and other meetings as assigned
  • Completes and updates mandatory training and other licensure related items in a timely manner
  • Maintains documentation that is accurate and legible
  • Completes incident reports, including reporting any suspected exploitation, abuse, or neglect of a client
  • Ensures that the Agency meets its quality improvement, evaluation and reporting requirements
  • Actively participates in and/or oversees data collection and the use of data to improve outcomes, practices and service delivery
  • Utilizes data collection in relation to driving and tracking outcomes and achieving Agency initiatives and goals

What you need to be considered:
  • No formal education required
  • Must have at least 1-year practical work experience in various aspects of building repair and maintenance
  • Availability of 24 hour on-call (for emergencies)
  • Minimum age of 21 per licensure requirements
  • Valid Indiana driver's license and driving record that meets eligibility requirements of Damar's insurance carrier (for all positions requiring driving)
  • Be clear of any felony convictions, substantiated charges of neglect or other disqualifying criminal convictions
  • Successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen and physical
  • Favorably meet and maintain Damar's background screening

Essential Job Functions
The essential functions of this position require the physical ability and mobility needed to perform the job. This includes the ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods; occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 50 lbs.; operate office equipment, including a computer keyboard; travel to other locations using private or commercial transportation; and communicate effectively to exchange information.
The position also requires the ability to recognize and respond appropriately to client behaviors, staff instructions, safety concerns, and emergencies in an environment where individuals may display aggressive, self-injurious, sexually maladaptive, elopement, or other unpredictable behaviors.
Regular and acceptable attendance, excluding approved absences and periods of leave, is also an essential function of the position.
