Materials Coordinator Intern (Year-Round)

Location: Kokomo, Indiana

BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for a "dynamic, results driven" individual to join as a Materials Coordinator.

Joining the Materials team offers a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, high impact operational environment. The overall goal of the position is to support accurate and efficient inventory management while learning industry systems like SAP, PEPS and PowerPick. This is an exciting role for someone who enjoys problem-solving, working with technology, and being part of a team that keeps critical materials flowing to support our prototype builds.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily electronic reel scans using X-ray equipment to verify material quantities; relabel reels as needed and return to inventory locations
  • Receive and put away raw materials into designated warehouse locations, ensuring proper organization and accuracy
  • Conduct routine cycle counts for mechanical materials to maintain inventory accuracy and support audit requirements
  • Support inventory management activities using SAP, PEPS, and PowerPick systems, including transactions, tracking, and data updates

What We Are Looking For

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college, university, or be a graduate from an accredited college
  • GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, or B average, upon initial hire date
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to lift and move materials as needed (within standard safety guidelines)
  • Ability to learn and operate warehouse technology, including X-ray scanning equipment and automated storage systems (e.g., PowerPick)
  • Availability to work scheduled hours on-site
