Job description

Join the fastest growing property management company in Michigan as a Maintenance Supervisor! LR Management is looking for a dependable and hard-working individual with previous apartment maintenance experience to join our team. The successful candidate will be a team player, have a positive attitude along with being self-motivated and self-directed.

The Maintenance Supervisor’s primary responsibility is to work with the Property Manager to ensure and coordinate the safety, maintenance, and equipment needs of the property, along with overall requirements of the community.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Working knowledge of the following: HVAC, electrical, plumbing, appliance repair, changing locks and cutting keys, make ready punch lists, carpentry, landscaping, and general curb appeal
  • Ordering supplies for inventory
  • Scheduling projects in vacant apartments ahead of time to get work completed in a timely manner
  • Managing large capital projects including bidding, supervising contractors and sub-contractors, and reviewing completed work
  • Communicating with vendors and staff to resolve any issues

Qualifications include, but are not limited to:

  • Three (3) years minimum experience as a Maintenance Supervisor (preferred) or Technician in a multi-family apartment setting or equivalent industry.
  • HVAC and EPA Certification
  • Experience with Yardi
  • Experience in estimating maintenance and repair timelines and costs associated with projects
  • The ability to set goals and create a plan to accomplish them
  • The ability to understand and work within a budget
  • Knowledge of property management at the leasing and administrative levels.
  • Intermediate computer skills, including the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Proven time management skills in meeting deadlines and achieving goals
  • The ability to create a team-centered environment and lead that team effectively
  • The ability to take direction from leadership and follow through on the directive
  • Pool certification preferred
