Summary
The Subcontracts Administrator II is responsible for supporting subcontract and procurement activities for government and commercial programs. This role administers subcontract activities throughout the procurement lifecycle, including solicitation, award, administration, and closeout functions. The ideal candidate possesses a foundational understanding of subcontract management principles, government contracting requirements, and supplier relationship management while demonstrating the ability to work independently on routine assignments and collaborate effectively across functional teams.
Position Responsibilities
  • Lead cradle-to-grave subcontract administration activities, including preparation, issuance, evaluation, negotiation, award, administration, and closeout of Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and subcontract agreements.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders and subcontractors to ensure compliance with subcontract terms, delivery schedules, and program requirements.
  • Maintain subcontract files and procurement documentation in accordance with company procedures, customer requirements, and applicable regulations.
  • Monitor subcontract performance and assist in resolving delivery, invoicing, and performance-related issues.
  • Support invoice review and reconciliation processes to ensure accuracy and compliance with subcontract requirements.
  • Participate in subcontract negotiations related to pricing, terms and conditions, and statements of work under the guidance of senior team members.
  • Prepare subcontract status reports, metrics, and related documentation to support program and management requirements.
  • Collaborate with Program Management, Engineering, Finance, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to support subcontract execution and program objectives.
  • Interpret and apply basic FAR/DFARS requirements and company procurement policies.
  • Support audit requests, compliance reviews, and process improvement initiatives as needed.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience)
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 2-5 years of relevant experience in subcontract administration
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic understanding of procurement and government contracting principles (FAR/DFARS).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Other Qualifications & Desired Competencies
  • Knowledge of FAR/DFARS subcontracts principles.
  • Displays strong initiative and drive to accomplish goals and meet company objectives
  • Experience supporting aerospace, defense, manufacturing, or other regulated industries.
  • Demonstrates initiative, accountability, and willingness to learn and grow professionally.
  • Strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while exercising sound judgment and decision-making capabilities.
  • Strong customer service mindset with the ability to build collaborative working relationships.
  • Demonstrates accountability, initiative, and ownership of work products and deliverables.
  • Effective problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems and procurement tools preferred.
  • Demonstrates professionalism, adaptability, and teamwork in a dynamic environment.

Physical Demands
  • Ability to sit, stand, stoop, reach, lift (up to 10 lbs.), bend, etc. Hand and wrist dexterity to utilize the computer.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment.

Travel Requirements
  • Up to 10% of domestic travel may be required to support subcontractor visits, program activities, and company functions.

Work Location
  • On site in an office environment which is climate controlled
  • Initial work location will be Hybrid expected 3 days on site per week based on business needs and leadership direction.

The salary range for this role is:
$64,500 - $91,350
