Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:
Manages the installation, repair, upkeep and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems and preventive maintenance for all buildings and grounds, facilities, equipment and fire suppression systems for the Distribution Center. May also supervise DC housekeeping or provide maintenance services for retail facilities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Experience interacting with senior management. Comfortable with briefing and creating reports to management in a timely manner.
  • Experience in team building, payroll management and performance management (annual reviews, corrective action, promotions, and training).
  • Experience setting up and managing both routine and preventative maintenance programs. This includes utilizing maintenance management software.
  • Experience managing critical parts inventory to include experience with parts cage software.
  • Experience managing contractors and outside vendors. Includes housekeeping, pest control, landscaping and snow removal.
  • Computer literate.
  • Conveyor maintenance experience. (Understands Programmable Logic Controls, variable frequency drives, and basic electric understanding). Able to read electrical and control drawings.
  • Lift equipment and fleet management experience. Managing contractors and in-house maintenance to include battery maintenance.
  • Experience managing building systems: Lighting controls, energy management systems, heating, air conditioning, and ventilation systems, air compressors, and fire systems.
  • Experience with inspecting and managing the brick and mortar aspects of the building. (Roofs, concrete floors and walls settling/cracking, overhead doors, parking lot maintenance, compactor and baler maintenance.)
  • ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Preferred Degree: Bachelor's Degree in Facilities, Engineering or Industrial Technology (if applicable)
  • Years of experience: 5+ years of experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:
  • This position requires a high level of mechanical and organizational aptitude. Knowledge of various building trades is required for this position. Resume of experience managing various building and service trade vendors is required.
  • Must pass drivers background check, possess, and retain a valid driver license.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Less than 5% of total time in year

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Regularly stands, walks, does computer work, and lifts up to 50 lbs.
Occasionally sits.
INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT:
Develops objectives and general policies and procedures for a specific program or functional area of responsibility within general scope of established operational goals and plans. Day-to-day work and decisions do not require direction or review by immediate supervisor. End results are reviewed by supervisor.
