Job description

Exceptional Care for Children is a 501(c)(3) not for profit organization committed to providing the highest quality of care and services to pediatric patients requiring transitional, long term, and/or palliative care.
Position Summery
The Maintenance Generalist is self-motivated and capable of working alone or as part of a team. They are responsible for proactively assisting in the maintenance and upkeep of the medical facility, furnishings, and equipment. Performs work in the operation, maintenance and repair of medical/facilities and the associated systems and grounds. Competently carry out work assignments, technical and logistical support services functions, and work proactively on various aspects of facility maintenance and preventative maintenance, in the facility. Provides support in multiple areas related to the efficient refurbishing, maintenance and operations of the facility, land, furnishings, and equipment. May serve as backup to other skill trades workers on complex assignments. Complies with all company policies and procedures and adheres to proper safety standards.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Must pass preemployment drug screening and background check.
  • At least 1 year of experience in maintenance recommended and meets the skills defined by the maintenance department.
  • Must have valid Driver's license and the ability to obtain CDL within 90 days.
  • Have basic computer skills ability to use email and basic knowledge of Windows 365

Responsibilities
  • Performs a wide variety of general and preventative maintenance and repair work that may range from relatively unskilled tasks to Moderately skilled trade-related projects requiring the operation of numerous hand and power tools and other equipment.
  • Take daily calls and perform carpentry, minor electrical, painting, mechanical and plumbing maintenance, and repairs such as, but not limited to:
  • Performs routine plumbing repairs as unstopping toilets, sinks, or urinals, fixing water leaks, leaking faucets, and water/ice machines; maintains water heaters and fixtures; troubleshoots and repairs problems with minor electrical issues, light fixtures, and time clocks.
  • Caulks windows and doors; repairs and replaces broken windows.
  • Performs routine repair of structures, which may include wall repairs, various flooring installation, patching and sanding wall in preparation for painting, etc.
  • Replace switches, replace ballasts, troubleshoots, and replace alarm initiating devices.
  • Repair/replace shower diverters, pull, repair, and reinstall toilets, operate drain machine.
  • Start or restart chillers and AHUs without assistance.
  • Troubleshoot alarms and make adjustments on the building BAS.
  • Troubleshoot and make repairs on the hospital Nurse call system without assistance.
  • Install shelving, painting, and patching, repair/replace door hardware, repair sliding doors, repair/replace window shades.
  • Perform building maintenance inspections and rounds.
  • Performs and schedules preventive maintenance procedures for buildings, equipment, and grounds.
  • Ensure building and equipment meet all safety and fire regulations and policies.
  • Responsible for shift coverages
  • Work on snow removal team
  • Perform general landscaping duties.
  • Operate tractors, mowers, and other small landscape equipment.
