The Maintenance Manager will coordinate and direct the daily duties and functions of all maintenance departments and shifts in a manufacturing and distribution environment. This position will lead and mentor supervisors to achieve department goals. This position will also collaborate with the Manufacturing Engineering and Manufacturing Operations leadership to service, troubleshoot, repair, modify, specify, and establish preventative maintenance programs for all machinery, equipment, facilities, and powered industrial vehicle (PIV) needs, to support the manufacturing and distribution processes.

Responsibilities:

Equipment and Facility Maintenance

  • Develop and implement comprehensive preventative maintenance programs for all manufacturing equipment, HVAC systems, and facility infrastructure
  • Oversee equipment installations, modifications, and upgrades
  • Manage maintenance scheduling to minimize production disruptions
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company standards

Team Leadership

  • Supervisor and mentor maintenance technicians and support staff
  • Coordinate training programs to enhance team skills and safety awareness
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching
  • Foster a collaborative environment focused on continuous improvement

Planning and Operations

  • Create and maintain maintenance budgets, including parts inventory and labor costs
  • Develop work orders, prioritize maintenance requests, and track completion
  • Collaborate with production teams to schedule maintenance during optimal windows
  • Maintain regulatory compliance for all equipment and systems

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
  • Proficiency with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems)
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and maintenance best practices

Leadership Ability

  • Proven experience managing and developing maintenance teams
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong problem solving and analytical capabilities
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities

Physical Requirements and Environment

  • Ability to walk through manufacturing facilities and climb stairs
  • Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Comfort working in various environmental conditions

Qualifications

  • Associates Degree in related technical field, or equivalent work experience, Required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Maintenance Management, or related field, Preferred
  • 5 years' experience in a maintenance field with practical experience in mechanical, electrical, hydraulics, powered industrial vehicle (PIV) and/or HVAC maintenance, Required
  • PIV License, or ability to obtain within 60 days, Required
  • Knowledge of industrial electronic systems, including 480V, 240V and DC voltages and Industrial hydraulics and fluid power
  • 3D Drawing Software such as CAD or Solidworks

Work Environment:

This position is located in an active industrial manufacturing and distribution center with moderate to high noise levels, temperature variations, and material handling equipment in operation. The role may require extended periods of standing or walking on concrete floors and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses and steel-toed boots. The fast-paced environment involves time-sensitive and safety sensitive operations and may include various shift schedules to support production and distribution needs.
