Maintenance Manager | Victory Brewing - Parkesburg, PA

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading maintenance operations and projects across multiple production facilities. This role oversees the maintenance team, schedules and directs maintenance activities, and ensures the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all brewing/cidermaking, packaging, utility, and facility equipment.

Key responsibilities include managing maintenance personnel, administering the preventive maintenance program, issuing and tracking work orders, overseeing maintenance activities across all shifts, and maintaining appropriate spare parts inventory. The Maintenance Manager works closely with production teams to maximize equipment reliability, minimize downtime, and support operational performance in a safe and clean working environment.

As a member of the leadership team, the Maintenance Manager promotes a culture of safety, accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence while serving as a positive ambassador for the company and its brands.

Supervisory Responsibility: Maintenance Department
WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Manage computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), issue and track work orders, ensure preventive maintenance is scheduled and completed, order replacement parts and maintain parts inventory.
  • Work directly with the operations and production teams to schedule preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, unplanned corrective work, and improvement projects at all production facilities to reduce equipment downtime and drive continuous improvements.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve efficiency throughout the production facility.
  • Manage projects with staff and outside contractors to install, commission and improve existing equipment.
  • Read blueprints, schematics and OEM manuals to troubleshoot and determine work procedures to dismantle, overhaul, and assemble industrial machinery.
  • Provide assessment, analysis of equipment issues and report out corrective actions.
  • Keep accurate and complete records of repairs and preventative maintenance tasks as completed.
  • Adhere to and enforce all applicable local, state and federal laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Assist staff in keeping maintenance shop neat and organized.
  • Manage maintenance department team members including hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, and performance reviews.


WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Strong commitment to fostering a safe work environment, with experience implementing and supporting safety programs.
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Extensive experience with electrical control systems, PLC's, HMI's, and automated production systems.
  • Have clear knowledge of systems including but not limited to:
    • Steam systems, boilers, steam traps, and heat exchangers.
    • Centrifuges and centrifugal pumps.
    • Mills, augers, conveyors, and gear boxes.
    • Glycol chillers, compressors, evaporators, plumbing, and solenoids.
    • Packaging equipment for canning, bottling, and kegging lines.
    • Hydraulic and pneumatic systems, pumps, valves, cylinders, and compressors.
    • Restaurant and tasting rooms systems, HVAC, and utilities.
    • Wastewater systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Experience driving continuous improvement techniques like Lean, TPM, and Kaizen.
  • An understanding of cidery/brewery sanitation and food safety programs.
  • The ability to manage a diverse team of mechanics.
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills.
  • The ability to work and/or be available flexible hours, including off shifts, weekends and holidays.
  • Strong work ethic and a high level of professionalism.
  • Ability to act as a liaison to vendors and suppliers.
  • Cost accounting, capital planning, budget making skills.
  • Computer skills with proficiency in MS Office.
  • Experience with payroll and labor management software.
  • A bachelor's degree, trade school certification or equivalent work experience in mechanical, electrical engineering, or other technical related disciplines.
  • A minimum of five years of experience as a manager in general maintenance.
  • A minimum of five years working in a packaging and food processing environment.
  • Workdays are typically Monday through Friday. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.


Physical Demands

  • Perform work duties in all areas of the facility (Production, Wastewater, Taproom, Warehouse).
  • Occasionally work above grade, from ladders and lifts.
  • Occasionally work below grade and in confined spaces (non-permit and permit).
  • Occasionally work outdoors, year-round, in a variety of temperatures and weather conditions.
  • Frequently sit, stand, walk, bend over, twist, kneel, climb, stoop and crouch. This position requires the ability to routinely and repeatedly lift up to 55 pounds and maneuver 170 pounds repeatedly.
  • Use their hands to perform fine manipulation, handle or feel, and must be able to reach with their hands and arms.


Work Environment

  • The Maintenance Manager will primarily perform work duties in an office, in production areas and in the mechanic's shop.
  • While performing the duties of the job, the Maintenance Manager may be exposed to a damp, wet environment with hot liquids, airborne particles, chemicals and moving machinery. There can be loud noise levels, and protective eyewear is required on the production floor at all times.
