Description:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Oversee maintenance department.

· Ensure efficient operation and timely completion of tasks.

· Assign maintenance tasks and responsibilities to personnel.

· Order maintenance supplies and repair parts for Channahon and other facilities as needed.

· Assist with project management for minor facility projects.

· Perform and delegate Express Maintenance database: work order creation, scheduling and equipment updates.

· Manage WASP inventory: purchase orders, receipts, Item usage, and annual physical inventory.

· Perform necessary modifications, repairs, replacements and upgrades as directed.

· Perform inspections and tests, as needed; evaluation involved.

· Document proper maintenance procedures as required.

· Assist in teaching maintenance workers proper techniques of repair and trouble shooting.

· Makes out of service evaluations on fleet equipment

· Establishes preventative procedures on transports, and or plant equipment.

· Reviews daily, weekly, and monthly reports. Identify irregularities and ensure these items are addressed promptly.

· Coordinates hydrostatic and periodic testing on trailers and maintain proper DOT records.

· Maintain parts and supplies inventories at an efficient level

· Negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers and contractors 

· Evaluate maintenance programs, procedures, and methods to ensure efficient utilization of resources

· Participate as necessary in modifications, repairs, replacements, upgrades, and expansions

· Understands and enforces applicable codes and regulations

· Coordinate activities of department with other department heads and customer representatives as necessary

· Maintain equipment at a level to ensure production requirements can be met efficiently

· And any other duties that may become necessary from time to time


MANAGEMENT

· Plans and schedules maintenance activities (Preventative and On Demand)

· Establishes appropriate priorities for workload and production unit availability

· Develops training program for maintenance personnel

· Establishes and maintains an effective preventive maintenance program

· Monitors department costs and maintains same within established budgetary guidelines

· When necessary, communicate with customers in a polite, professional manner

· Participates in developing maintenance budgets

· Effectively plans to minimize equipment downtime and production upsets

· Maintains equipment maintenance and performance records


SUPERVISORY/PERSONNEL

· Communicates with fellow workers in a professional efficient manner.

· Communicates concerns with supervision in a professional efficient manner.

· Assists in maintaining good interdepartmental relations.

· Directs activities of department personnel

· Oversees and participates in scheduled and non-scheduled work

· Makes recommendations for staffing department with justification

· Responsible for department morale

· Utilizes personnel efficiently

· Minimizes overtime

· Coordinate and document training activities.

· Audits hours worked, vacations, attendance and holidays taken/worked.

· Performs performance appraisals of department personnel

Requirements:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

· 5+ years industrial/maintenance experience with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.

· Intermediate computer skills required. 

· Excellent understanding of codes and regulations.

· Ability to read and understand blueprints.

· Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and troubleshoot/repair accordingly.

· Good eye/hand coordination required

· Ability to climb, bend, stoop and maintain balance is necessary

· Sufficient strength to lift 75 pounds dead weight

· Good math and reading comprehension abilities required

· Excellent communication skills required

· Excellent mechanical aptitude

· Willingness to travel
