The Maintenance Manager will manage a team of maintenance employees with different disciplines. Coordinates schedules and workflow for the team who repairs and conducts preventative maintenance activities throughout the facility on production equipment and peripheral devices. Supervises day-to-day work of maintenance employees. Manage vendor relationships and support Facilities Department as needed. Ensures compliance with OSHA regulations.

Duties/ Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the maintenance department.
  • Evaluates production equipment or facilities to determine maintenance or repairs that need to be performed.
  • Assesses production equipment to plan work assignments and project schedules.
  • Develop maintenance procedures and schedules as necessary.
  • Ensures maintenance and repair work is completed correctly and in a timely manner.
  • Assists with departmental budget estimates and costs of specific repair projects.
  • Develops and maintains preventative maintenance schedule in collaboration with operations staff.
  • Develops and maintains critical spare parts lists and inventory levels of those parts to avoid unscheduled downtime.
  • Tracks all maintenance activities through the maintenance management program.
  • Support the implementation and generation of Capital Expense requests by the use of maintenance data.
  • Sustain equipment documentation including electrical and mechanical systems. Ensure updates are made to keep all documents current.

Managerial Responsibilities:

  • Hires and trains maintenance department staff.
  • Organizes and oversees the schedules and work of maintenance staff.
  • Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
  • Helps to develop, coach and train staff.
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.
  • Ensures that there is 24/7 maintenance coverage of operations within the facility.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree, in a technical field (BSME/BSEE preferred), plus extensive maintenance experience
  • 8+ years of maintenance experience incomplex industrial manufacturing
  • 3 + years in a leadership role such as:
  • Maintenance Supervisor
  • Maintenance Superintendent
  • Reliability Engineer
  • Manufacturing Engineer

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Proven commitment to workplace safety and safe work practices.
  • Extensive knowledge of Mechanical Systems, including Hydraulics and Pneumatics
  • Extensive knowledge of industrial electrical controls, including PLCs and Drives
  • Root Cause Failure Analysis
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical blueprints and electrical schematics
  • Strong Background in preventative and predictive maintenance scheduling
  • Excellent analytical,troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Effective leadership, supervisory, and team development capabilities
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with 2D & 3D CAD a plus
  • Project Management experiencein a manufacturing environment

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to travel to property and/or facility to diagnose production and building issues and plan repairs or maintenance including climbing stairs, ladders, and catwalks.
  • Must be physically able to perform repairs when needed.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to work in a hot or cold environment as deemed necessary.
  • Must be able to lift 45 pounds at a time.
