Essential Functions 

  1. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. 
  2. Ensure maintenance is being upheld on all machinery through the facility. 
  3. Provide direction and motivation to team members focusing on safety, quality, efficiency, cost and morale. 
  4. Assist with diversified duties to install and maintain production machine and the plant facility’s equipment.  
  5. Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service. 
  6. Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities. 
  7. Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.  
  8. Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.  
  9. Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and adjust. 
  10. Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities. 
  11. Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.  
  12. Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.  
  13. Ensures further development of team members through performance evaluation, development of training plans, feedback, coaching, corrective action, and cascade training.
  14. Update team member training matrix and schedule any needed training. 
  15. Assists General Manager in developing, planning, and maintaining the budget including adjusting to achieve targets.  
  16. Review and track Manufacturing Key Performance Indicators (KPI) including leading problem solving for negative trends or goals not met. 
  17. Participates in management discussions and planning sessions to help formulate cost reduction, product improvement, and problem-solving activities. 
  18. Develops and maintains positive team member relations centered on mutual trust, dignity, respect, fairness, consistency, two-way communication, teamwork, and harmony.

Supervisory Responsibility

Physical Demands 
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The team member must frequently lift and/or move items over 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work 

This is a full-time position, and the expected work hours are 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday; weekend and overnight work is also necessary. 

Travel 

Travel is primarily local, although some out-of-the-area travel may be expected. 

Required Education and Experience 

  1. High school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience.  
  2. 4+ years of manufacturing experience; strong hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and industrial skills with some PLC experience and HVAC 
  3. Ability to read and interpret documents  
  4. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form.  

Preferred Education and Experience  

An AA degree in mechanical, electrical or industrial maintenance.  

Vacuum furnace experience. 

Work Authorization/Security Clearance 

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
