Employment Type: Full-time, 8 AM - 5 PM, Monday - Friday, Occasional Weekends

Position Summary:

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing duties to repair and maintain machinery, building and facilities which require a broad knowledge of maintenance skills including mechanical repair, electrical, pneumatics, minor plumbing, and minor hydraulics.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates to develop and establish standard practices in the area of techniques, material used, capacity planning, maintenance scheduling, safety, and performance measures.
  • Liaising / Control of Subcontractors.
  • Completion of all certifications of compliance & upkeep of all maintenance documentation
  • Develop a Preventative Maintenance schedule for each key piece of machinery.
  • Control key materials & spare parts.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety aspects of building & machinery.
  • Make repairs or adjustments when needed.
  • Regularly inspect and replace parts when necessary.
  • Perform essential maintenance on and secures the building, facilities, and the grounds.
  • Assist to determine the nature and scope of forthcoming projects and the requirements for completion.
  • Order maintenance supplies following defined purchasing process meeting budget expectations.
  • Perform routine housekeeping activities in the department and ensure adherence to established safety procedures and requirements.
  • Must work well with others in a team environment.
  • Performs all required preventative maintenance in accordance with schedule.
  • Maintains a clean and organized parts warehouse and work area.
  • Observe company work rules and safety regulations.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Specific Skills, Competencies, and Qualifications:

  • Experience in the maintenance of printing industry standard machinery is key to the role:
    • Experience of maintaining the following would be advantageous:
      • Gallus, ABG Digicon, Prati Inspection
  • Advanced Math (Imperial and metric systems)
  • Ability to read layouts, plans, exploded diagrams and electric schematics.
  • Dexterity of hands, stand and walk prolonged periods of time (full shift), crawl under machinery.
  • Reasoning ability.
  • Good Computer Skills (Web, office package, design software - AutoCAD preferred)
  • Mechanically and electrically inclined (single phase, 3phases - 120-480VAC, 24VDC)
  • Requires the ability to operate various tools and equipment to include various hand and power tools and various measuring equipment.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Must be able to work any shift, weekends, and overtime as needed.
  • Friendly and respectful with internal and external clients

Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Three to five years prior industrial maintenance experience.
  • Combination of education and experience determined by hiring manager.


Physical Requirements:

The role of Warehouse Lead requires physical stamina and the ability to perform various physical tasks. It is essential that candidates are capable of meeting the following physical requirements:

  • Lifting and carrying:
    1. The ability to lift and carry items weighing up to fifty pounds is necessary for this position. Maintenance Technician may be required to move heavy boxes, equipment, or inventory throughout the warehouse.
  • Standing and walking:
    1. This role involves extended periods of standing and walking within the warehouse facility. Candidates must have the physical endurance to remain on their feet for extended periods while performing their duties.
  • Manual dexterity:
    1. Maintenance Technician must have good manual dexterity to handle and manipulate small items, operate warehouse equipment, and perform tasks that require precise movements.
  • Bending, stooping, and reaching:
    1. The ability to bend, stoop, and reach for items on lower and higher shelves is crucial. Maintenance Technician may need to access inventory stored at different heights within the warehouse.
  • Physical agility:
    1. This role may involve navigating narrow aisles, climbing ladders, and maneuvering in confined spaces. Physical agility and coordination are necessary to perform these tasks safely and efficiently.
    2. Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
