Job description

The Larson Group Peterbilt is looking for an experienced Diesel Service Technician, Apprentice to join our dynamic team. This position performs all functions of apprenticeship level servicing with periodic supervision.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs diagnostic/mechanical repairs on heavy-duty truck equipment and related components. Testing when completed to ensure repairs are completed properly.
  • Follow safety rules and company policies always.
  • Communicate to Service Foreman regarding parts that are not available for repairs.
  • Download and save to Paccar Solutions/Decisiv: all pictures, engine files (before and after repair), and diagnostic test used to perform repair.
  • Record in detail, the description of all trouble shooting steps and results of repairs made and any other information about the repair.
  • Save all warrantable parts. Tag, wash, box and turn in to correct location. Labels the box with repair order number, S/N, customer name and date.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area. Clean and return tools used.
  • Advise the following shift's technicians with any special instructions or concerns you found when repairing truck.
  • Maintain efficiency and productivity goals set forth by Service Manager.
  • Maintain Peterbilt online training percentage of 95%.
  • Obtain class A or B CDL and retain during employment.
  • Perform other duties and repairs as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A college degree or a certificate or degree from a trade school is preferred, but not required.
  • Experience in a related field is preferred but not required.
  • Must Possess or be able to obtain a Class A CDL.
  • Motor Vehicle Record adheres to TLG MVR Guidelines.
