About the Opportunity

GOR Group is supporting a leading mission critical infrastructure organization seeking a Field Engineering Manager to lead technical field execution, installation quality, and field engineering support across complex infrastructure and low-voltage projects.

This position is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced construction and technical environments while helping field teams execute projects efficiently, safely, and at a high level of quality.

You will serve as a key technical leader supporting Project Managers, Superintendents, Foremen, Quality teams, and customers throughout the full project lifecycle. This role bridges the gap between design, construction, technical execution, and operational readiness while ensuring installations align with project specifications, customer expectations, and industry standards.

From preconstruction planning through commissioning and turnover, this role plays a critical part in driving consistency, problem-solving, and successful project delivery across mission critical environments.

What You'll DoTechnical Leadership & Field Support
  • Serve as the primary technical resource supporting field teams across multiple active projects
  • Provide technical guidance and support to Superintendents, Foremen, Leads, and installation teams
  • Support field execution by resolving technical issues related to design interpretation, installation methods, and system performance
  • Help ensure installations align with approved drawings, specifications, customer requirements, and industry standards
Project Coordination & Execution
  • Analyze project drawings, specifications, and scope documents to validate constructability and technical accuracy
  • Coordinate closely with Project Managers, customers, subcontractors, and stakeholders regarding technical clarifications, revisions, and design changes
  • Participate in project planning activities including scope validation, risk identification, and execution strategy development
  • Review RFIs, submittals, design revisions, and technical documentation to maintain alignment between field conditions and project requirements
Quality, Testing & Commissioning
  • Support testing, system validation, commissioning activities, and project turnover processes
  • Perform regular field walks and technical reviews to monitor installation quality and project execution
  • Assist with troubleshooting and technical issue resolution during active construction and startup activities
  • Support operational readiness and turnover documentation efforts
Process Improvement & Team Development
  • Help develop and implement field engineering procedures, technical standards, and best practices
  • Provide mentorship, coaching, and technical training to field personnel
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, standardization, and increased operational efficiency
  • Promote collaboration across project management, field leadership, quality teams, and customers
Systems & Environments You'll Support

What We're Looking For
  • 5+ years of experience in field engineering, technical project support, construction, or mission critical infrastructure environments
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Low-voltage systems
    • Structured cabling infrastructure
    • Telecommunications systems
    • Critical infrastructure environments
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, schematics, and technical specifications
  • Understanding of industry standards including BICSI, TIA/EIA, ANSI, and related best practices
  • Experience identifying technical issues and implementing effective solutions
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong collaboration skills across operations, project management, field teams, customers, and subcontractors
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities simultaneously
  • Experience providing mentorship, technical leadership, or training
  • Ability to perform effectively in fast-paced, schedule-driven environments
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Familiarity with project tracking platforms such as Smartsheet or similar tools preferred
  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred
  • BICSI or manufacturer certifications preferred
  • Experience supporting Division 27 or Division 28 systems preferred
