Role Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Mainframe Developer with deep expertise in COBOL, CICS, DB2, and JCL to support and enhance mission-critical applications. The candidate will play a key role in development, maintenance, production support, and modernization initiatives in a high-volume enterprise environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, CICS, DB2, and JCL
  • Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications
  • Perform impact analysis and support system enhancements and upgrades
  • Develop and optimize DB2 SQL queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning
  • Handle production support, incident resolution, and root cause analysis
  • Work on batch and online (CICS) processing systems
  • Prepare functional and technical design documents
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including QA, business analysts, and infrastructure teams
  • Participate in code reviews, testing (unit, integration, UAT), and deployment activities
  • Ensure adherence to coding standards, security policies, and SLA commitments

Required Technical Skills

  • Strong hands-on experience in:
    • COBOL (Structured & Object-Oriented)
    • CICS (Customer Information Control System)
    • DB2 (SQL, Stored Procedures, Performance Tuning)
    • JCL (Job Control Language)
  • Experience with:
    • VSAM, IMS (optional but preferred)
