A Mainframe Security specialist is primarily responsible for managing user access, monitoring system activity for potential security incidents, and updating security policies to address emerging threats. Their day-to-day tasks often include configuring security software (such as RACF or ACF2), conducting system audits, investigating security breaches, and collaborating with IT and compliance teams. They may also provide guidance during security reviews and support internal or external audits.
