Key Responsibilities
• Manage DB2 objects (databases, tablespaces, tables, indexes)
• Execute DB2 commands (STOP/START, DISPLAY, thread cancel/termination)
• Run DB2 utilities (REORG, RUNSTATS, COPY/RECOVER, LOAD/UNLOAD, REPAIR)
• Perform BSDS updates using DSNJU003/DSNJU004
• Support DB2 upgrades, migrations, SMP/E maintenance
• Use ISV tools (BMC, CA, IBM utilities)
• Monitor and tune performance using DB2 catalog and tools
• Troubleshoot DB2 and application issues
• Manage grants, privileges, and security
• Follow ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change, Configuration)
• Support DR planning and execution
Required Skills
• 4-6 years of Mainframe DB2 DBA or System Programmer experience
• Strong Mainframe & DB2 architecture knowledge
• Proficiency in JCL and z/OS operations
• Hands-on experience with DB2 utilities and SMP/E
• Experience with BMC/CA tools
• Strong SQL and catalog analysis skills
