Location: Chandler, Arizona (Hybrid)
Duration: 12 months
Role Overview
This role involves systems engineering activities that support Mainframe (System z) Storage projects. The position includes responsibilities for system design, build, development, implementation, maintenance, and operations. The successful candidate will work on complex problems where analysis requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors and will operate under minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage system design, build, development, and implementation for Mainframe Storage projects.
  • Provide client support across infrastructure and software.
  • Support senior personnel and project managers on technical projects.
  • Assist and help train junior analysts, including providing technical peer reviews.
  • Analyze complex situations or data to find solutions.
  • Exercise judgment within defined practices to select methods and techniques for obtaining results.
Required Qualifications
Experience: A minimum of 5-10 years of experience as a Mainframe Storage administrator.
Technical Skills:
  • Experience with DASD management and replication.
  • Proficiency with Hitachi Vantara DASD synchronous and asynchronous replication.
  • Knowledge of IBM TAPE GRID configurations.
  • Experience with Broadcom (Brocade) FICON directors and channel extension.
  • In-depth knowledge of ACC/SRS, ACS, DFHSM, ICKDSF, CA1, User Catalogs, ABARS, TDMF, and DFDSS.
  • Familiarity with Python.
  • Strong technical documentation writing skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency with SAS, VISIO, and MS Office.
  • Knowledge of Assembler, CLIST, and REXX.
  • Conceptual understanding of Mainframe Operations.
  • Project management skills.
