Job description

Job Summary:
Conexess Group is seeking a detail-oriented CICS Mainframe Engineer to oversee the installation, maintenance, and support of IBM mainframe systems. This role focuses on ensuring efficient operation of CICS environments by identifying and resolving issues within critical transaction processing systems.
Responsibilities:
• Perform installation, upgrades, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of CICS regions and related components on IBM mainframe systems.
• Monitor CICS systems and performance metrics to maintain uptime and optimize functionality.
• Conduct root cause analysis and debugging to identify and resolve system issues promptly. Collaborate with support teams to troubleshoot complex CICS-related problems.
• Document CICS configurations, maintenance activities, and issue resolutions. Ensure adherence to company policies and regulatory standards.
• Perform CICS performance tuning, adjusting resources and settings to achieve optimal throughput and response times.
• Provide technical support to application developers and other end-users of the mainframe system, ensuring they understand CICS utilities and best practices.
Qualifications:
Required:
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with IBM CICS installation, configuration, and maintenance in a mainframe environment.
• In-depth understanding of core CICS concepts and utilities, including transaction processing, storage management, and error handling.
• Proficient in mainframe technologies like COBOL, JCL, REXX, and DB2.
• Familiar with mainframe file systems (e.g., VSAM) and related utilities.
• Strong analytical skills with experience in debugging and conducting root cause analysis for CICS-related issues.
• Knowledge of mainframe monitoring and diagnostic tools (e.g., OMEGAMON, MainView).
• Experience with performance tuning, workload balancing, and CICS optimization techniques.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.
